Canon 6D II CR2 files

I have been using Canon's DPP software for image editing for years because it's imple and easy to use. Now that I have a new 6D II camera the files it produces can not be edited with my existing Canon software. So I upgraded to the latest version of DPP4 however, to work it requires a upgrade to Net Framework 4.7.2 however, that software won't install. So now I am wondering will Paint Shop Pro will edit the CR2 files from my Canon 6D II?

I have just opened one of my CR2 files from Canon 7D.
This opened the programs Camera Raw Lab enabling me to edit these files.

Thanks for the info Trevor. Unfortunately even though Canon uses a CR2 file format they are highly variable. I can use older versions of Canon's DPP software to edit files from my 7D and even my 6D however I had to download a newer version of DPP software to edit the files from my 80D. That software can't edit files from my 6D II. It's a very annoying situation.

It’s a pity Canon cannot keep their software upto date with the new cameras.
Are you able to upload a sample to a sharing site, Google Drive, One Drive etc.
Then the guys could test your images using PSP.
