Crop/Cut of videos
Is there a possibility to cut off some part of the video. Not to change the size, but cut off or crop the picture?
Thanks!
Thanks!

looks it's been a long time since you browse the FX's for the crops...

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
I know it of course but I need some more sophisticated function (irregular form), cut out part of the pictures, similar to the masking follower feature.
Even when with the recent FX, when cut off let us say the upper part of the picture ( 75% ), then there is no tool to adjust this cropped video to the standard frame format. Ie the cropped video will be smaller and the remaining space is filled by some color ( usually black).

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
VS can do a lot with masks and crop,
But you still short of a 1000 words, so why not show an image with the problem.

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
It is too complex. I worked with microcameras and it was not always possible to hide the background from the miniatur scenes and sometimes the background is quite disturbing. As the cameras are not moving in many scenes it would be relatively easy to cut off the part of the background (like one does on Photoshop).

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
Use the cropping filter, and un-tick the fill colour box. Then whatever size of crop you have selected will fill the window.
I use this function all the time to remove various "un-wanted" items (like the running control bar at the bottom of the picture when I've forgotten to move the mouse out-of-frame) from screen saves when viewing YT or tutorials.

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
Thanks. I need to use a combination of everything.
What I would like to do to change the cameraview from wide angle to the reduced angle view, like a zoom-in with the adjustable center point.
For some scenes I made in Corel Photo Paint the individual masking frames to hide the unwanted parts in the background.

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
You can combine several filters on one clip or image, but make sure you have un-ticked the box marked 'replace last filter'. In the situation you outline:
- a cropping filter to remove the parts of the image you do not want
- a pan and zoom filter, possibly with keyframes to set the parts of the clip you want specific degrees of P&Z and where you want focus of any zoom to be.

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
The cropping filter would be OK when the cropped picture would fill the screen. Just to crop and fill the remaining space with some color is not very effective. I tried to change the picture size ( adjust to the frame) what does not work well. So I need to experience more with zoom and pan.

Re: Crop/Cut of videos
Use the Customize Motion function. In the function screen use the Size settings with Lock the Aspect Ration enabled then increase the size. You can also use the Position settings to move X-Y position is needed.
