Video Studio 2018 Ultimate UI not scaling on 4k Display
I have a Dell XPS with a Dell 4K Display 3840 x 2160 resolution. The text of the main and other screens is so small it's almost unreadable. This is not text in video content but the UI. Corel support say there is no capability to change the size of the text. I run win 10 home and my scale setting is 200%. Has anyone had this same issue and is there a simple solution. I have modified my register so that Win will reference an external Manifest file (VStudio.exe.manifest) but haven't had success in adding this to the same folder as VStudio.exe. Any suggestions/help will be much appreciated.

I suspect you're going to have to add this to our wishlist at the top of this forum. You didn't say what size your monitor is. I agree that the text in VS is small, though I happen to have a 32" 4K monitor set to 150% zoom, so the text is quite readable. But in the sister program, PaintShop Pro, there have been two versions now with the ability to increase the size of various screen display items, and in PSP 2019 this also included the size of text. So Corel has the relevant coding for one of its flagship programs, and you'd have to think it would be relatively easy for that to be transferred to VS.

I have the same problem on my XPS15 4K. I cannot believe I just purchased a product that is unusable on a modern display.
Has anyone found a solution or work around to this problem?

Re: Video Studio 2018 Ultimate UI not scaling on 4k Display
My monitor is a Dell SQ2817Q My system is a DEll XPS 8930 running WIN 10 Home.
Corel have tried to help but have been unsuccesful. Their last suggestion was to reduce the resolution to HD. I did try, of course the characters were bigger as a result, but it totally defeated the purpose of my investing in a 4K UHD monitor. I tried creating a Manifest file (vstudio.exe.manfest) copying code that was written for one of Corel earlier products that had a similar issue and placing it in the same location as the vstudio.exe file but didn't make any difference. I suggested to Corel support to try the "Manifest" file path to fix the issue but they don't seem to acknowledge its an issue with their software not scaling correctly. I may have to dump Video Studio. I have used the product since version 7 but its time to move on with something like Adobe's Premier Pro. If I can't get a resolution to this issue, much as I like VS and have got to know it well.

Re: Video Studio 2018 Ultimate UI not scaling on 4k Display
Sorry but you -- and scottrbishop -- have still not told us what size your monitors are. As I have already said, I have a 32" 4K monitor on a 4K Intel NUC computer, and zoom of 150% works fine and gives more than visible results with VS. And as RobertOZ has said in a separate post, he also uses 150% on a 28" 4K monitor with VS, and again is quite happy with the results. So please give us an idea of the size of the monitor screen you are dealing with, and perhaps also a screen shot of what it looks like at the 200% you say you have set.

PDharm,
You have a dell 28" TN 4K monitor, so you should have no trouble setting the zoom to 150% and with scaling correctly proportioned, it should not be necessary to reduce the resolution, neither Ken or myself have any problem with the visible screen at 150% zoom

Thanks Robert -- and sorry, PDharm -- I keep forgetting that the size of the monitor is usually embedded in its full model name!

Hi Ken,
I posted a reply in the "Wishlist" thread, but RobertOZ and I are clearly seeing different scaling for some reason. Here is what he sees in Windows 10 at 4K at 200% zoom:
download/file.php?id=12335&mode=view
Here is what I see:

For whatever reason, I (and several others, apparently) get a version of Video Studio that doesn't seem to have respected the Windows scaling settings as other programs in Windows 10 do (PP, in my example).
I am on a Dell XPS15 (so 15" monitor), but that doesn't really have much to do with the scaling or resolution, would you agree? For all other applications, having the display resolution at 3840x2160 scaled to 200% gives the experience of using that same program on a "1080" resolution. Video Studio (and some old Adobe CS programs from 2012) do not seem to scale the same way without the insertion of the manifest file as PDharm mentions.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your reply.
