Today I filled a blank layer with a gradient, then decided to use that gradient for text with a solid stroke. I set the stroke to blue and used that color to add a border using a script that JoeB made for me a few years ago. So far so good. Clicked the text tool, and the blue stoke and fill gradient reverted to what i used last, 2 days ago, a green stroke and different gradient fill. I knew that was going to happen, so I reset the blue stroke and gradient fill to what I wanted. Then decided to use a brush first, with the same blue stroke color. That's when the wheels fell off. I chose a brush, and the materials palette had reverted to the green stroke and the previous gradient fill. So then I reset the blue stroke and new gradient fill. When I pressed OK on the gradient dialog box, the green stroke was back. Note that I still have the brush tool active. I reset the stroke to blue and used the brush. When I went back to the text tool, the stroke and fill was as it should be. I don't recall this happening before. And I'm really tired of setting the materials palette three time before I could using it.
I'm using PSP 21.1.0.22. And I'm sure I have left out some vital information, I always do. I haven't reset preferences, I want to avoid that if I can. If this is a feature, would someone please remind me which version of PSP started this text tool issue?

Re: Setting Materials
For what it's worth, PSP2019 works like it did before when I do put a check in all tools. I don't know what changed but the only solution I come up with is the dreaded reset. I don't like to have it behaving opposite to the settings, so I don't have much choice.
