PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
When I opened my PSP2018 Ultimate, I received an offer for 2019 Ultimate with plugins that I could NOT refuse. The installation 2019 Ultimate went very smoothly. However, I was NOT prompted to d/l any of the new plugins: PhotoMirage Express, Painter Essentials 6, and Perfectly Clear 3.5 SE although I might have this update when the plugin was accessed recently from within PSP2018U).
For now, I added the plugins I have to the Plugin File Folders in 2019. Also, I do so the free Content and d/l'd those.

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
Painter Essentials 6 installs as a stand-alone program, and is listed (under C for Corel) in Control Panel > Programs and Features. So check there first to see if it is installed.
Perfectly Clear is normally accessed when you go to Effects > Plugins > Athentech > Perfectly Clear. So again, check there.
I can't comment on PhotoMirage Express as I already had the full version, which is stand-alone. So I have no idea where the Express version might be located or accessed. Hopefully someone else will jump in on that...

None of the above -Ken Berry wrote:Painter Essentials 6 installs as a stand-alone program, and is listed (under C for Corel) in Control Panel > Programs and Features. So check there first to see if it is installed.

A) Perfectly Clear 3.5 is NOT is not on my PC anywhere.
B) Painter Essentials 6 is not installed
C) PhotoMirage "did not come along for the ride" - ONLY PSP2019U was D/L'd and installed
D) Now Athentech > Perfectly ClearSE plugin in PSP2018U now reports "Unable to load .... PerfectlyClearSE.8bf." It is there, I did not change the location in PSP2018U and there is a path in Plugin Locations. This worked BEFORE the installation of PSP2019.
So, while waiting for an e-mail from Support to provide a D/L line to PhotoMirage Express (requested before posting at the forum) and asked about other addon's that I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED, my question for you follows:
Background - I did NOT like the fact the the update did not give me the option to D/L PSP2019U. I understand it is an update. I could provide the SN of PSPS2018U if it was NOT on my PC. I prefer to uninstall old version BEFORE installing new. There is nothing I have configured in 2018 that I risk losing. Fuirthermore, I always perform an Acronis BU PRIOR taking ANY such action. Now then, I do have a recent image to simply return to PRIOR to Corel "Force Feeding it" installing it.
If I return to just prior to PSP2019U installing....
Q1. Where would I d/l the entire product. I am registered with PSP2019U now. Get it at the site?
I would then fully uninstall (I use RevoUninstaller Pro) PSP2018 then install PSP2019U fresh
Q2. Would I again be able to d/l the free content I just acquired from the 2019 Welcome tab?
Q3. Is there ANY content from PSP2018U that PSP2019 points to or installs that I would NOT have if PSP2018U is NOT there when doing my very clean installation of PSP 2019U. FYI: I haveTopaz Remask and PhotoZoomPro 7 both of which I purchased. i can/did/will again link those plugin locations.
Q4. If the full PSP2019U setup application was d/l'd and on my PC that I can use - where is it?
Tnx,
Ira

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
When you bought 2019, did you receive a confirmation email from Corel or Cleverbridge, listing what was included in the package? I ask since when I got it I also received links to PhotoMirage Express (with SN), Painter Essentials 6 (with SN), Perfectly Clear 6.5, AfterShot 3 (with SN), and the Creative Collection.
See also viewtopic.php?p=363560#p363560 who received his 2019 and plug-ins in a similar way. (Note that he also refers to Pic-2-Painting. I also have that, though from memory I simply downloaded it from the PSP home > Get More page.)

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
I only received confirmation of PSP2019U. I am aware of what I should have seen if/when other products travel along. I have since restored my C drive to prior to accepting the "ON THE FLY" PSP2019U installation that was at $27.99.Ken Berry wrote:When you bought 2019, did you receive a confirmation email from Corel or Cleverbridge, listing what was included in the package? Low and behold, when I opened PSP2018U the pop-up appeared (of course it does not know I have a license). Sure enough, I am correct, it should have included all six (6) apps/plugins. Look at the clip of the pop up that I attached to this reply.
So, I will ONLY accept a full D/L (not a forced install) from Corel - need to wait for them to send me a link to d/l EVERYTHING because no way do I ever install w/o doing a clean uninstall for a next year product. I do realize there are advantages to have multiple releases and you'd think they can coexist happily. In my case, Perfectly Clear 5 in PSP2018U would not load AFTER installing PSP2019U.
I'll report result when I hear from Corel or call them tomorrow.
Tnx,
Ira

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
Today I see all products with license keys listed at Corel at my login "Your Registered Products" that should been d/l'd and installed or prompted me to accept. Yesterday, only PSP 2019U was shown. No matter, I will only accept a full d/l of all products, not a forced install.
I called Corel Tech Support to get status on my ticket. After providing proof of purchase [yesterday from pop-up], the issue was escalated to Level 2 with higher priority. I do expect to receive a link to d/l PSP2019U with the six(6) apps. I have since restored my C drive so, the popup in 2018U reappeared today but it's back to $47.99. I bought it at $27.99 ... don't have it yet though.
When I have 2019U with goodies, having a very recent Acronis image with it, I will totally uninstall PSP2018U, with all of what it came with ... unless I find an app in 2018U did not come with the 2019U package. I will analyze this when the time comes. After I clean out PSP2018U, I will capture an Acronis Backup image of my C drive in case 2019 suite installation does not go well to retry it after restoring C drive with to the no PSP state.
Back when the issue is resolved.

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
Good News! Corel just emailed d/l links to PaintShop Pro 2019U and all six (6) items with license keys that come with it purchased two days ago from a pop up offered at $27.99 (couldn't resist at that price point) from Welcome screen of 2018U.
Very pleased with how Corel Tech Support on phone handled this after my 2nd call. This allows me to install it after clearing out PSP2018 with all its goodies to a clean install of 2019U with all its goodies and able to return to 2018U if necessary.
Recall my issue I was unhappy that it immediately installed instead of providing a D/L and none of the 6 other apps, etc got installed. Furthermore, there was a conflict with the 2018U Perfectly Clear plugin that another person experienced too (refer to viewtopic.php?f=56&t=64102). No matter, I never have two versions of same program installed even if I might miss a feature or two.
I'll be back after 2019U with goodies are fully installed.

IMO do not install PSP 2018. It doesn't take up much room.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

I know you meant to say "do not UNinstall PSP 2018." I, like others, have lots of available HD space. From your experience, please tell me what 2018U has that 2019U do es not or does yet work properly. As for the conflict I experienced, I don't expect that issue. Realizing how I cover all bases, I could easily try running with both. FYI: i have avoided doing so with Pinnacle Studio Ultimate while others have multiple versions installed.
Thanks,

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
Maybe it's just me, but I had a lot less trouble with 2018 than 2019. The enlargeable icons, for example, was a nice touch for these tired old eyes. As you can see from my sig, I have a number of PSP versions installed. They never conflict. I cannot say that my plugins have been unaffected when I have uninstalled various PSP versions. But since you have uninstalled PSP 2018 and successfully installed 2019, I would say to Leave Well Enough Alone(tm).iraisok wrote:Hi and thanks, ehume wrote:iraisok wrote: . . . Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
I also would say keep at least two versions of PSP available on your computer. Picture this - you have been given a project to do and there is a short deadline for that project . You go to your trusty PSP 2019 and try to start it up only to find that some problem occurs due to an update from Windows, or a conflict with another program you have installed or a vital sector on your hard drive has just failed . Now you could spend hours to daye and past your deadline trying to solve your problem or you could just boot up another version of PSP eg PSP 2018 and complete your task in no time and then have no pressure on you while you try and solve the problem of PSP 2019.
Using Murphy's two laws
1. If something can go wron it will at some time.
2. If something does go wrong it will do so at the worst possible time.
Having extra versions on your C drive does not take up much space (depending on the size of your drive) I have 1 Tb as my standard drives an 2 Tb as my backup data drives.
If you are concerned about a desktop cluttered with shortcuts then you can set up a shortcut folder and put all your little used shortcuts in that folder.
As for me I have available on my desktop all the versions mentioned in my details , but I still go back to using just a few depending on what I am wanting to do.
Making small changes eg levels and cropping a 100 images - PSP X2 - because that ws one of the last versions where the enter key accepted teh changes done in levels without having to use the mouse to click OK
Cropping an image without the stupid and coarse rotating image rather than crop rectangle - X9
Making regular screen captures and multiple screen captures X7 because of Import > Screen Capture > Setup then shows all the settings on one dialog screen rather than the useless 4 dialog screens of the 'new improved' Screen Capture.
Doing processing which does not require cropping - PSP 2018 or 2019.
So I have those becaus it gives me free choice on which programs with which features I can use.

Great info. I have tried out your suggestion on x7. I already knew about x9. But I must admit: I have been spoiled by the large icons in 2018.. . .

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
Installed PSP 2019U with all 6 apps/plugins, etc still having PSP 2018U with all its goodies installed. There is no conflict. They each run properly. PSP 2019U does load and run faster than PSP 2018U as other people have reported.
Don't do this:
At first, I uninstalled PSP 2018U and all it's third party extras in a less than formal fashion - I used Revouninstaller Pro (that I live by and recommend - even the free version). It warned me of items that were shared. I disregarded the warning knowing I could restore my C drive from a recent Acronis backup image. Well, while I do a very good clean out of PSP2018U and all its 3 party apps, when I tried to load Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 21.5, it was very unhappy - saying I was not licensed. No worries or hair pulling. I simply restored my C drive to the state just prior to uninstalling PSP2018U.
For now, I left PSP2018U with goodies installed and as mentioned in my first paragraph, successfully installed PSP2019u with all it's goodies, added necessary Plugin locations from File, Preferences, File Locations, Plugins including my Topaz ReMask 5 plugin and d/l'd all the free stuff. My BenVista PhotoZoom Pro 7 was already shown in File, Export, Plugin's.
Finally, I captured an Acronis Backup image with everything fully installed, configured and working happily. Eventually, I expect to uninstall only PaintShop Pro 2018U and Corel Painter Essentials 5. since NiK Collection, ParticleShop and AfterShot are used by PSP2019U. I'll use the applications uninstall feature and not Revounistall this time. Still love Revo!

Re: PSP2019 Ultimate update - where are the new plugins
HartPaul: thanks for sharing your reasons for having multiple versions. Other than old ver 5.01 from years ago, I was born into 2018u and have been very happy with it. Acted on 2019U because I got it for $27.99. Yep, I have 2 x 2TB HD'S and a 500GB SSD boot drive. As most of us, I have loads of unused space. My recourse for a quirky Windows update would be to restore my c drive with a recent Acronis c drive backup image. Btw: I use SyncToy (free until from MS) to sync media and other drives/partitions incl backup images to external portable drives.
Again, Tnx for your thoughts and suggestions... both you guys,

Oh and also the most important of computer rules which you seem to be doing with your Acronis image.
"Always have a backup"
or two or three.
I use an Astone dual caddy to do drive for drive copies and generally have 2 copies that I rotate by month.
