hello,
I have a long video file cut into ten pieces on the timeline. they all have the exact same file name. is there a way to rename each one so I can remember the content? for example a person is answering questions and each clip is a different answer. the thumbs for each clip look the same.
then I want to take each clip and export it as a separate file but NOT export the entire video/
Thanks again

Re: rename time line clips then save and export one?
what you see and do in the timeline is all virtual - cutting a clip into 10 pieces in the timeline does not cut the original file at all - which is why all the segments have the same filename
Can I assume that after cutting the original you then created new thumbnails - one for each segment
you have numerous options - do you really want 10 new videos - or do you just want the thumbnails in the library to have different names
if the latter - first click on a thumbnail and then on the text under it and the text will go into edit mode and you can give each thumbnail a new name - this does not create new videos but merely renames the thumbnail
there are many many ways of creating new videos from an edited timeline and I'm sure other people will come along with their personal choice
I think for a beginner like you the easiest way is to first make sure you have 10 thumbnails in the library - then delete everything in your timeline - no you are not deleting you video - it's all virtual
now slide the first thumbnail down into the timeline - now click on the 'Share' tab at the top - make sure the little monitor icon is selected in the centre column - then set 'same as first video clip' in the top option - then add a new title name and select a save location - and 'Start' to create a new video to your requirements
go back to the 'Edit' tab - delete the clip in the timeline - repeat the process one at a time until you have your 10 new videos
