capture driver

Post by cojo239 »

Hi I am making my first attempt to load video from my JVC digital video camera to my Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 Suite. I have a Dell computer with Windows XP. I attach the camera to the USB 2.0 port turn the camera on. I select Create Video Sldeshow Disc, when I select Add Media (capture video from a video device)- I get an error message: "No capture driver is available in the system". A yellow alert tirangle is included with the numbers: 13011:2:1

Can any tell me if I am doing something incorrectly or if I lack something on my computer. This is my very first attempt at video. I have used Suite 3 successfully for slide shows.

Help !

Thanks

Is your MovieFactory bundled with your camera? If not, it won't work with your camera. Usually, capturing devices should come with their bundled softwares to be used in capturing since they're specially developed to function with that device. ^_^

Or, you may just need the driver from JVC. If your camera came with software, installing the software will also install the driver.

If it turns-out that the driver isn't compatible with MF, then you may have to use the JVC software for "capturing". You can still use MF for editing and DVD authoring & burning.

USB? I believe only a very few (very new) camcorders will stream DV over USB2 (HighSpeed). I'm not aware of a JVC model that does this. I think you need a FireWire (aka iLink, 1394) cable.
