capture driver

Post by cojo239 »

Hi I am making my first attempt to load video from my JVC digital video camera to my Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3 Suite. I have a Dell computer with Windows XP. I attach the camera to the USB 2.0 port turn the camera on. I select Create Video Sldeshow Disc, when I select Add Media (capture video from a video device)- I get an error message: "No capture driver is available in the system". A yellow alert tirangle is included with the numbers: 13011:2:1

Can any tell me if I am doing something incorrectly or if I lack something on my computer. This is my very first attempt at video. I have used Suite 3 successfully for slide shows.

Help !

Thanks

Does your camcorder also take still image pictures? Try to get a firewire to connect your camcorder. The USB is probably only used to download the pictures, not the video.

In Windows XP you also might want to test and see if Windows Moviemaker has the same problem.

Hi AnimeChick

Yes the camera takes still pictures also. In Windows Moviemaker I get the same type message (no capture device). I know nothing of Firewire - can you give me any info about Firewire e.g. cost, how connected etc.

Thank you for your help.

Re: Capture Driver Problem

I just bought my system 2 weeks ago and had this same problem
I went into Advance and Capture Settings. I found out the problem was using the wrong capture device. Try playing around with the settings and good luck!
