Help w/ Text Tool

Post by DoctorT »

Hi!

I am using Paint Shop Pro X6 (v. 16.2.0.20 x64) running under Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit, Service Pack 1.

After I open PSP and open a JPG image, I want to add text inside the image. I select the text tool and I type the text. So far, so good.

But to change the font type and the font size, I don’t see any controls. How do I display the controls?

Thank you!

The controls are on the tool options palette the same place you see controls for brushes. If you don't see the Tool Options palette, you need to view it. Go to View -> Palettes -> Tool Options Make sure there is a checkmark next to it.

Dear LeviFiction,

Thank you for your reply!

I found it. However, it is displayed as a box in the middle of the window. How do I move it below the Command Bar?

Like all palettes, you can either double click the titlebar or you can drag it into place.

Double-clicking the titlebar of the palette is the easiest. It forces the palette to dock at the last place it was docked at previously.

As for dragging it into place. I don't remember if X6 has the little docking tabs or not though I assume it does. When you drag a palette little docking tabs appear, and when you hover over one of them it'll highlight the position that the palette will be docked at. The UI looks slightly different in 2019 but the tabs should be the same.

Here you can see the tabs that appear when you drag a palette around

And here you can see what it looks like when you drag the palette over one of the tabs

Simply drag and release on a tab and the palette should dock in the UI.
