Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
Is there any way to save a custom toolbar made in one PSP version (X9) and load it into a different PSP version, e.g., 2019?
Recreating it would be a LOT of work and considering the tools and scripts I normally use, if save and load isn't possible I can just keep using X9.
It seems there must be someplace where PSP stores custom toolbars similar to how it store scripts, brushes, etc., in separate files or folders.
By the way, I replace PSP's set of folders with junctions, so whether I'm accessing the gradients, brushes, etc., folder from X8, X9, 2018 or 2019 I'm actually accessing the same files, so it won't be a problem of "the custom scripts from the old version won't be there for the new version."

Re: Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
I have been able to save an X9 workspace and load it into 2019 and it works, although it then has the "look and feel" of X9. But I still would like to be able to export and import individual custom toolbars.

Re: Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
When you Import the older workspace into PSP 2019, you lose the 3 new Menu items on the top.
I originally tried using PSP 2018 workspace and I saw that the 3 new items were missing - Enhance Photo, Palettes and User Interface.
So I had to reset to default and made a new custom workspace.

Re: Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
I just imported a workspace created in 2018 and it has those 3 in the menu bar.patara wrote:When you Import the older workspace into PSP 2019, you lose the 3 new Menu items on the top.

With a workspace import from X9 the only one you lose is User Interface. In X9 the other two are not in the menu bar, they are at the end of the Standard toolbar. I actually prefer them there. On most products Help is the right-most item and it just seems strange having it in the "middle". I keep wanting to click the right-most item for Help.
I do see that most of the File Locations settings wind up being from the 2019 setup, not X9. So I assume a lot of those are not saved in the workspace. (In other words, just in X9 or just in 2019 you could not create a workspace with a bunch of File Locations, save that, change a bunch of the file settings, save that as a new workspace, load the first one, and have the earlier File Locations settings restored.)

Re: Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
Regarding the Tools toolbar, 2018 and 2019 have a + at the bottom and if you click that you can hide tools you don't use (like Emboss, since I basically retouch scanned documents). X9 doesn't have that.
If you right-click the menu to the right of Help you get a drop-down that includes the same Quick Customize option. It is there even if you are in an imported X9 workspace.
Also, when you right-click there the bottom of the drop-down is Workspace. I also see that Load/Save/Delete options are Alt+Shift+{first letter}, e.g., Alt+Shift+S will Save the workspace.

But in x9 Corel has put in View>Customize, which is far more powerful. I have PSP 2018, and I don't use that (+). YMMV.Rick_R wrote:Regarding the Tools toolbar, 2018 and 2019 have a + at the bottom and if you click that you can hide tools you don't use (like Emboss, since I basically retouch scanned documents). 2019 has both. Customize doesn't let you modify the Tools toolbar. (+) Quick Customize is specifically for turning Tools toolbar items on or off.ehume wrote:But in x9 Corel has put in View>Customize, which is far more powerful. I have PSP 2018, and I don't use that (+). YMMV.

Re: Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
The workspace I imported from X9 doesn't have Enhance Photo, Palettes, or User Interface.
I chose Menu Bar right-click on free space, Customize, Menu, Default Menu, Reset. That added those to the Menu Bar without getting rid of my custom toolbar.

Very important info, since a number of us have highly customized toolbars. Thanks.Rick_R wrote:The workspace I imported from X9 doesn't have Enhance Photo, Palettes, or User Interface.

Re: Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
Doing that removes the customization !Rick_R wrote: I chose Menu Bar right-click on free space, Customize, Menu, Default Menu, Reset. That added those to the Menu Bar without getting rid of my custom toolbar.
I had a special sub-menu for the white balance in PSP2019 (regrouping tools for white balance).
When I import my PSP X9 workspace and doing the Default Menu Reset, sure it recover the lost PSP 2019 menus (UI, Palettes, ...) BUT it removes my sub-menu customization (white balance) !
Don't do that if you have many customization !

Re: Load X9 custom toolbar into 2019
Thanks for saving us some aggravation. I'm sure you have seen the old-timers here recommending that you save your workspaces. Doing that (following those recommendations) has saved me lots of time. Highly recommended.Jean-Luc wrote:Doing that removes the customization !Rick_R wrote: I chose Menu Bar right-click on free space, Customize, Menu, Default Menu, Reset.
