Try DaVinci Resolve... That will work well on your hardware.
If you want something "earlier to use" and don't mind paying: Pinnacle Studio 22 Ultimate.
Both of those are worth trying before going the subscription route with Adobe, which is very expensive.
With your kind of hardware, Resolve would probably be the smartest choice from a long-term economic standpoint. They don't charge for upgrades, and have a very aggressive development cadence. It's truly pro-level, and designed for the type of system you're running. Consumer editors aren't. In fact, I'd argue you downgraded your system by going with a CPU that doesn't have QSV. However, Resolve Studio will Decode and Encode with Nvidia hardware.
Intel also has a computational performance lead over AMD. So, you gave up raw per-core CPU performance in addition to QSV for more cores in software that really doesn't care about those cores.

There is within Video studio a setting to activate cuda cores and intel quick sinq and ryzen multitheading. I have Ryzen 3900x and GTX 1070Ti . go to settings then preferences, then performance. at the bottom select enable hardware decoder acceleration both check marks then select quick sync or cuda cores

If you search this forum, you'll find that the performance settings that you reference have caused problems.TIMSTER wrote:There is within Video studio a setting to activate cuda cores and intel quick sinq and ryzen multitheading. Most of what I edit is 10 minutes or under in total length. But the projects can range from simple, to complex multi track work.
Not to point a finger at Adobe, but many have left, and are leaving the Creative Cloud (especially after what happened with legit Venezuelan users). There are many other options in editing where you are not stuck in the "cloud" to consider.
I'd personally not trust the "cloud" with anything of importance, including running my software.
If you want to buy PS23 Ultimate and PSP2020 Ultimate along with Painter 2019 for the low low price of $25 (yes, totally legit by Corel), there is a HUMBLE BUNDLE right now for 4 more days at the time of this post.
I've bought games and other productivity software from Humble Bundle, including Vegas Pro Edit (14, 15)and Vegas Movie Studio. And you do not have to sign up and pay the monthly.

Re: Multi core support, what is exactly supported?
Thanks Tony for the heads up on the Humble Bundle, for just AU$38.56 I now have installed PS23 Ultimate, PSP 2020 Ultimate, Painter 2019 , PhotoMirage, and AfterShot 3 plus a few other Corel products, now just have to learn how to use them

I didn't bother, I have enough software I don't use.RobertOZ wrote:Thanks Tony for the heads up on the Humble Bundle, for just AU$38.56 I now have installed PS23 Ultimate, PSP 2020 Ultimate, Painter 2019 , PhotoMirage, and AfterShot 3 plus a few other Corel products, now just have to learn how to use them

Re: Multi core support, what is exactly supported?
It looks a good deal - but Adi's comment about unused software rings for me. Also, the usability of some of it. I have the JASC photo album product that Corel bought years ago, so I tried paintshop pro (PSP) a few years back, mainly to be able to manage/create layered images. But doing that became impossible as it insisted on importing all the images on the computer into it's organizer workspace first. Now, I've got them (10,000 and more) happily stored in a logical drive where photos (and only photos) are stored, in specific event folders by time and place, so I wasn't going to wait and live with Corel telling me how I should change all that. The forum on the product wasn't much help so eventually I bailed out and uninstalled it.
The point to this is that even if the deal looks good, it ain't necessarily so.

Yes your points are valid, however, I installed Pinnacle Studio 23 Platinum and PaintShop Pro 2020 Ultimate on the laptop, which only had VMS 16 Platinum installed, from my point of view, a good investment for AU$38.56. All my other editing software are installed on the desktop, Adobe, Magix, Corel VS, etc.
