PSP 2019 and Corel Aftershot 3
I have just downloaded and installed the PSP 2019 Ultimate package which includes Corel Aftershot 3. My camera is a Panasonic TZ70 which takes raw pictures in the RW2 format. What I am finding is that PSP 2019 will open those files in "Camera Raw Lab", but Corel Aftershot 3 (which is specifically intended for raw editing) will not recognise them at all. This seems to be a bit of an odd inconsistency, or am I missing something?

I don't have an exact answer but it may be it's because it's not the 'Pro' version. Someone with the latest 'Pro' version may be able to verify!

Re: PSP 2019 and Corel Aftershot 3
There is a list of cameras supported by AfterShot 3 at https://www.aftershotpro.com/en/product ... tech-specs. The Panasonic TZ70 does not appear in that list but at the bottom of the page is a statement "Can't find your camera? Request Support" with a hyperlink on the support. Corel is slow about developing support for cameras and AfterShot Pro 3 has not had an upgrade in a very long time. I use an older camera and am fortunate that it is supported.

Mark,
Thank you for that. I have now clicked on the "Request support link, but I won't hold my breath.
Going off topic a bit, as far as I understand it (which admittedly is not very far), the big advantage of raw editing is that no data at all is lost before you get to edit the picture. Would the same effect be achieved by saving the picture in a lossless format such as tiff and then working on that or is working on the raw image still the best?

If you shoot in RAW you can edit all you like. But you can't change the RAW file. Your edits must be saved in some other format. (Side car files will save your edits). So unless you delete or do something 'dumb', I have, your RAW files won't ever change.
In my case I shoot Nikon, NEF, RAW files. Edit and convert to 16bit tiffs. This gives you the best quality. But beware that a 24 meg RAW file may suddenly become a 130meg Tiff file,

Re: PSP 2019 and Corel Aftershot 3
Just after posting the note yesterday I returned to AfterShot and had a message pop up that there was an upgrade available, Update 5. According to the release notes https://www.aftershotpro.com/en/support ... index.html this update includes new support for 10 cameras, two of them Panasonic, but not the TZ70. By the way, have you tried the AfterShot forum? There may be some discussion there about your camera. Some very experienced users participate.
