Hi,
As already said in another post here ( viewtopic.php?f=1&t=64584) , there is major bug in videostudio ultimate 2018.
I bought it yesterday and trying to render a 4k movie today (also in 4k), it appears that the rendered movie is not of good quality.
I spent some time to try to understand the problem.
I previously had videostudio ultimate 8 without any problem for many years but loosed everything because of a problem on my hard drive.
The problem is due to smartproxy.
When using smartproxy, the rendered movie is always of very bad quality (with my version of VS ultimate).
Just as if the poor quality proxy video was rendered instead of the original one.
And when I do not use smartproxy and remove the proxy files, all is correct.
I think that many of us should have the same problem.
I wrote a few minutes ago to the local Corel assistance in France and explained my problem.
Let'see now!
Mike

Re: Bug in videostudio 2018 - Smart Proxy render quality
Hi Mike
Corel are aware of this issue which started after Service Pack 3, should be fixed with SP4
And our response to the other post has not changed.
As far as we know simply deselecting the Smart Proxy option before rendering is sufficient, you do not have to delete / remove the proxy files.
I have edited your topic title.
