Video looks like it has horizontal hold issues
I am trying out videostudio because I am thinking of switching from Vegas moviestudio. I did a screen record of my ipad. I brought the video into the program but it looks like the old horizontal hold/vertical hold on old televisions. It looks ok when I play it on my computer but not in videostudio. This is a showstopper as if I render I get the messed up video. If I try to do any effects the program crashes. Thoughts?

Welcome to the forum.
Could you please right click on the video either in the Video Studio timeline or its preview window, and tell us the Properties of the clip. You can either type them out or take a screen shot of the Properties box and upload them here as an Attachment.

Re: Video looks like it has horizontal hold issues
Hi
Couple of things seem unusual here..
I assume you use a Iphone to record the screen of the Ipad with the phone in portrait / vertical aspect.
If not what did you use?
That produced the vertical frame 1080 x 1920, a widescreen 16:9 video would be 1920 x 1080, the same shape as your TV
I assume the screen refresh rate of the ipad will be picked up during recording, and show the lines, the frame rate of 12.854 is also low again may exaggerate the lines.
The data rate 813kbps is also low and will produce relatively low quality video.
Maybe I have misunderstood what you have done?
So if you have used the phone to record the Ipad then i believe that will be the problem?

No, the ipad has a built in screen capture. I used it.

Hi
Are you able to increase the screen capture frame rate to 30 fps.
Using a low frame rate of 12.854fps will not display correctly on the editors timeline which is set to standard video sizes of 30 , 60 etc.

Re: Video looks like it has horizontal hold issues
I will say that I had such issue way back with X10 with simple mts files, I didn't look deeply into it as it was arbitrary and I stopped using X10 completely for few other reasons.

Re: Video looks like it has horizontal hold issues
I cannot change the capture rate, however, I did run it through handbrake and changed the fps. It did not help.
