I have just installed VS 18 and like the ability to mute a track easily. I often have some clips muted and others not and overlay with music. What I have found is that if a I mute my main video track all clips are muted as expected. However when I unmute all clips are unmuted, even the ones I had previously muted independently. Is this by design. I was hoping that muting a track would be smart to return all clips to the muted or unmuted state they were in when the track is unmuted. It seems the button is just an easier group clip mute or unmute, is this correct behaviour or am I missing something
Thanks
Matt

Re: VS18 track mute query
I have always assumed that was by design and seems perfectly normal to me - to me 'unmute' means unmute - not just the ones you last muted
if you do a lot of that sort of work you should consider using more overlay tracks so that you can mute clips in them without affecting other tracks
