Library Files import error in VSP X7 ultimate

Post by mal1938 »

I received a message "Files can't be imported, may be number of files is not correct or files are invalidated."

The libraries were made two days ago. Library Panel was cleared for new short project.

Completed a second project. I sought to start the 1st Project. The same hard disk. No Changes. I am unable to load the libraries.

I am unable to fathom why this problem after several years of no problem loading libraries.

I would appreciate help, otherwise great deal of painful wo0rk to create same libraries.

Thanks

Hi Mal
The libraries are not spacific to any project.
The best we can do is to create new library pages, with a suitable name, then import our project files
At least that keeps the project files separate.

You do not say what you are doing when you see the error, can you explain??

Given your other post regarding Rotopen??........
Resetting the program by renaming the 17.0 folder will also reset the library
A new folder being created when starting the program.

What you see in Videostudio libraries are not the actual clips - the thumbnails are just holding shortcuts to the real files stored somewhere on your hard drive. so when you say "The library Panel was cleared" what did you actually do - did you delete all the thumbnails - so there are no links for Videostudio to follow and it is confused

I don't understand your term "I am unable to load the library" - what are you doing there - you should open a library and then import clips to it - but you do not need anything at all in your libraries to open a previous project - just open the .vsp file and the clips should load to the timeline whether they are in libraries or not .

No need to clear libraries - just create a new library folder/pane for each project leaving all the others alone where they are then you can always go back to them (as you just tried to do) at any time
