Hey, guys,
I`ve bought Corel VS Ultimate few days ago and continued working. Now I have two problems. I don`t know why they appeared and I don`t know how to solve them.
First problem is that one file suddenly cannot be opened in VS. There is a white area instead of footage`s content.
Second problem is that I cannot save my work.

Not just a white space - but a Black and White strip - usually a sign that your clips have become un-linked - are they on an external drive which is no longer connected - or which can change it's drive letter every time you start your computer - same with the 'Save' problem - are you saving to the same place - if an external drive is it still connected and showing the same drive letter
did you not get a Re-linking error when you opened Videostudio - have you turned off Relink checking in Preferences
try right clicking on the blck and white strip - this will often give the option to re-link - browse to and select the missing clip

Re: Two bugs that I see for the first time
Brian Cee, thank you for your answer.
Okay, it`s a black and white strip.
That video clip is not on external drive. It is on internal drive.
I didn`t change it`s place.
I`ve just tried to use that video clip in new project and I cannot use it.
The same thing doesn`t happen with other video clips from the same drive.
So, maybe I should do something only with that video, but I don`t know what.
I don`t understand how to relink that video.
Thanks again!

What Properties are shown when you right click on that black and white clip in the timeline? That "improper argument" message usually only appears when there is something in the clip which VS cannot deal with, such as a variable frame rate.
So it would be useful if you could take a printscreen shot of the Properties box and upload it here as an Attachment.

Re: Two bugs that I see for the first time
I have the same problem again.
I still don`t understand what`s happening.
There are many short clips that I use in my project. They have some order. I can play every video whenever I want in order to check some details, to check if I should cut some video here or there, and so on.
But, when I insert some bigger file I cannot play that file. Besides that, when I insert that bigger file I cannot even play those shorter clips.
Here`s the video of whole that situation.
At the end of the video you can see properties of that file.

The confusing thing here is that I already used that file.
I don`t understand how it`s possible that I cannot use it again.
You see all that smaller videos that are already in before putting that big file?
Some of them are actually made from that big file. I cut that big file to make smaller ones.

SOrry for being late. I didn`t have enough time during the last month.Ken Berry wrote:What Properties are shown when you right click on that black and white clip in the timeline? I have enough time to work in VS so I have the same problem again.

I mean, I don`t have black and white stripe, but I do have "improper argument".

Re: Two bugs that I see for the first time
Hi lazer
The “Improper Argument” unfortunately can be a problem but understanding what causes the error is so far impossible.
I would advise that you report this to Corel Support.
I assume that you are able to replicate the error, if so are you able to create a smart package, zip and share with us so we can try to replicate.
The properties of your video may cause some issues as using mono audio does seem to be a factor in some troublesome videos, then again no idea why that should be.
You could try converting the video clip to use stereo audio.
As a thought, select the clip, File Save as Trimmed Video, renders the clip to a new file, thumbnail in library, use that new video to replace the original, well just the last clip you added. Do you still get the error?
As I say if you can upload a sample project to a sharing site we can try.
