Text size in PSP-2019
Hi!
I am having serious display issues on Windows10 after the recent updates. I have a 24 "Dell monitor, and the texts in all applications are too small, difficult to read, although I do wear eyeglasses appropriate for the distance from the monitor. Talking to a friend in Australia about this, I received the information that she have the option to increase the size of the text inside the PSP-2019, through the User Interface menu, as shown below (second print)
In my version of PSP-2019 Ultimate, I have never had this option available, I already did the Update for version 1, which is now 21.1.0.22, but I still do not have the option to increase the size of the text, my menu only presents these options as shown below (first print)
Could someone please explain how to fix this, so I can increase the size of the text inside the PSP-2019? Any help will be greatly appreciated, and thank you in advance.
Regards, Nena

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
Hi Nena,
you have perhaps loaded a previous workspace in PSP 2019. Don't do that. Somme new stuff in 2019 will be deleted by the old workspace.
See also if you are working in Complete workspace and not in Essentials.

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
Hi, Jean-Luc, thank you for your response.
Yes, I did, I downloaded the worspace of the PSP-2018 and was very happy that I did not have to configure everything again, I never thought it could cause problems in the new version. Please, if I apply the PSP-2019 fix that is available on the Corel website, do you think this could fix the problem? If not, I'll roll back the 2019 workspace to the default, and set it all up again. Thank you very much for your guidance. I am working in Complete Workspace and not in Essentials. Best regards, Nena

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
Now this raises an interesting question: what if you like your PSP 2018 customizations, and want to keep them when you move to PSP 2020 -- but you want to reap the benefits of advancing technology (e.g.-- the adjustable text size)? Must you recreate it and build a new workspace? Or is there a shortcut, like an update?Nena wrote:Hi, Jean-Luc, thank you for your response.

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
About your question, if I understood correctly, I used the saved workspace feature inside PSP2018 and downloaded it on PSP2019.
I do not know how to answer that question, I am a domestic user and I do not understand much of these modern technologies, so much so that I did not know that I could not use the 2018 workspace to use in 2019, sometimes it is difficult for a person like me, almost 80 years old... but I'm stubborn, and keep trying!

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
To answer both of your questions, when you save a workspace in one version of PSP, it's not just your customizations that are saved but the complete workspace configuration including your customizations. When a new version of PSP is installed, that new version will almost always contain some tool improvements and/or new features. But when you load a workspace from your previous version that workspace does not have that new information, tools and improvements of the new version. So while some of the old workspace stuff will work in the new version, none of the new stuff will work.Nena wrote:About your question, if I understood correctly, I used the saved workspace feature inside PSP2018 and downloaded it on PSP2019.

So no, you can't really use a workspace from a previous version if you want to be able to fully access the options in the newer version. You have to start from scratch.

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
So what do you suggest as the best option? Uninstall / Reinstall PSP-2019, or try to return the program to default by pressing SHIFT and the program icon at the same time? Thank you!

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
You can just go to File>Workspace>Delete... and it will open a window where you can select your previous workspace and delete it. That should return you to the Complete workspace, but you can also go to File>Workspace>Complete and just click on that to make sure you have the Complete default workspace in place. Then customize your workspace as you wish, and save that workspace.Nena wrote:So what do you suggest as the best option? Because you likely have quite a few customizations, you might find it more convenient to do some of them, save that workspace with its own name (I juse my user nic from this forum and then a number - e.g., JoeB_01, JoeB_02, etc.) load it again just to make sure everything took hold. Then, when time permits, do more customizations and save that workspace as the next numerical sequence, etc. If you create specific workspaces for specific types of projects, then instead of the numerical sequencing you will want to use a short description of what type of project that workspace is to be used for.

I decided to start everything from scratch, reset the program to default and set everything up again, today I learned that you should not use Workspace from previous programs in new versions. Thank you so much for your help and consideration.

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
That means that for PSP 2020 I must build a new workspace. Since one can choose which workspace to load, it seems like one need not delete, just add to your list. Since I have had more than on PSP open simultaneously, I would have to shuttle back and forth between the two, until my PSP 202 workspace looks like my PSP 2018 workspace. What fun!JoeB wrote:Nena wrote:. . . I'll scurry off to the "what would you like" thread and ask for updatable workspaces.

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
Seems to me much ado about nothing.
Set up the default workspace and then time how long it takes you to do your customisations. Consider that if you then save your workspace as Joe has mentioned you would only have to do this once a year.
In my case it takes less than 5 minutes to do those customisations including a customised toolbar . Then save that workspace.
Five to 10 minutes once a year, Are we that time poor?
It would take about the same time to open a browser navigate to the Corel forum page and then type out the query giving all pertinent data - checking for spelling and grammatical errors and posting the new thread. Then the up to 24 hours wait to get a 1st response.
Personally I do very little visual changes apart from the custom toolbar and changing preferences. That way when I explain about locating a button or menu item it is always true if the person has used or is using a default workspace.
If I go the whole hog and remove / rearrange / delete some tools then explaining directions to a tool / menu item from my custom work space will not match someone elses work space unless we both have a visually equal workspace.

Re: Text size in PSP-2019
I have seen personalized workspaces from common users. Some have extracted all the possible tools and have displayed them all around the workspace (4 or more toolbar lines) so they can access in "one click" ! Their screen looks like a Christmas tree but they have fun using such workspace. This customization takes some time to do, adjust, etc.hartpaul wrote: Personally I do very little visual changes apart from the custom toolbar and changing preferences.
It would be nice if PSP had the possibility to save customized toolbars separately. So, we could load them in a new version without to do many modifications in the new workspace.
