Yesterday, I had a large blueprint drawing scanned at OfficeMax. I didn't realize that they saved the file as a PDF. When I opened it in PSP I got a dialogue window called PostScript renderer asking me for resolution and size and a number of other things I don't remember. I selected 200 dpi for resolution and bounding box for size since the original measured 2' x 6'. It successfully opened in PSP and I could perform various edits on it. When I get done with them, I intend to save it as a JPG file. My questions are: does this sound like a Workable plan and, is there any good reason that I should take it back to OfficeMax and have it scanned again and saved as a JPG file?
I am posting this as I have never dealt with the PDF file format in PSP before. I would appreciate any advice pertaining to this topic.
Thanks. Jim Birke

Re: PDF vs JPG File format
JPG's are known as a "lossy" format, where info is thrown away to achieve compactness. I was taught to save such files in PNG format. I was also told to have my text in Arial, which comes out well on PNG's, but I do not know if that latter is true.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

Re: PDF vs JPG File format
It's likely that the pdf actually contains a jpeg.
I'm not aware of the top of my head how you extract it... It seems likely that if you open the pdf in acrobat reader and copy it, possibly by clicking it (the picture I mean,) then pressing Ctrl+C then go in to PSP and paste as new image Ctrl+SHIFT+V that would be a reasonable place to start.
