newbie question

Hi Guy's,

When we try to open a picture with Corel instant viewer get an message that says:

Corel instant viewer is already running or opened by another user


I did check the running tasks and there is no process with that name and also why should we get this error, shouldn't multiple users can open the same .exe file?

You have provided almost no information. Which Corel product are you using? Are you using PaintShop Pro and which version?

I have never heard of "Corel Instant Viewer." What is it and where did you find it?

Sorry if I have not provided enough info, I believe that the Corel instant viewer was installed as a part of PaintShop Pro XP3
This program is installed on one of our lagecy terminal servers.

Have found the executable in PSP X3 and was able to open it.
I was able to access some of the help files included with it and open an image in the viewer it seems to be a primitive version of the Organiser. Here is the info page-

You can select an image and then go to the Edit mode BUT it is a one way journey as PSPX3 does not seem to have a means of returning to the Viewer.
The viewer seems to be only for viewing a series of images and rotating them and nothing else apart from sending one image to the Edit mode .

You get all this with the Organiser which is also present in Edit mode along with Express Lab (which was the precursor of the Adjust mode).

Corel Instant Viewer seems to have been dropped in PSPX4 in favor of the Organiser and Manage mode.

Just a hint - your choice of heading for this thread Newbie question does not encourage people to look at your post and also would be lousy for a search of topics. Better would be something like "Where is Corel Instant Viewer?" which immediately conveys to the viewer that this thread is about Corel Instant Viewer not about the vague terms "question" or "newbie". As in advertising you have to grab the attention of the viewer and make them want to look at your post.

Thank you for your detailed info and also your hint.
Why can we just run one instance of this program? Is this means that this application is not for use in terminal server environment?

Update:
Just found something that looks like Instant Viewer.
Open any of later versions of PSP X4-2019.
Go to Manage mode with the organiser strip along the bottom
Double click an y image and the new window that opens looks very much like Corel Instant Viewer.

I missed the simplicity of the old image viewer and recently found ImageGlass.
