PSP image opens in wrong PSP

Post by Safiren »

I have trouble opening PSP files in 64 bit instead of 32 bit.
I always work in PSP 32 bit.
When I right-click teh image and select properties it says:, opens with PSP 32 bit. exactky as i want it to be.
When I left click on the image to open it in PSP, it opens in PSP 64 bit
Why is it like that ?
I have:

Don't know why this is, but try this:

Choose "Open with . . . " from the context menu.
Select "Choose default program . . ."
Select PSP "2018 (64-bit)" from the list.
If PSP 2018 64b is not on the list, browse for it and select it.
Report back.

I want to open the image in 32-bit.
When I left click the image it should open automatically in PSP 32-bit......... but it opens in PSP 64-bit.
I will not have to choose myself every time.

If you want to have the file open in PSP 32-bit and not have to choose each time, select the 'default" option (it's usually at the bottom of the 2d context menu). Does this work in your system?

When right-click and select "Properties" the properties dialog shows a "Change" button next to the "Opens With" item. When I click on this I can change the program that opens when I open any and all PSPimage files. I am curious can you try changing the program? See if it opens in the new program. Then change it back and see if it fixed the issue? If it doesn't fix the issue, then I think there might be something wrong in your registry. Though I wouldn't know how to fix that if it was the case.

I tried what you suggest. A few times the image opened in PSP 32-bit but next time in PSP 54-bit.
I tried different images but the same happens.
I will try to get an answer in a computer forum.
Thank you for trying to help me.
