Is there a place for user templates?
Corel has many templates (as bonus files) but many simple, but often required templates are missing - eg two pictures in picture etc.. I think it would be very useful to have some place where the users could upload their creations.

Re: VS templates
Many years ago Corel (maybe Ulead) did have such a site, cannot remember its name, but no longer, most of the templates that were on that site are now included in the free addon packs

Re: VS templates
I know, I have most of their collection.
I am sure many of us create different templates and tricks, maybe it would be useful to make them available for other users as well.
Maybe the admins of this forum can offer some solution.

Re: VS templates
Hi
Are you referring to the Instant Projects Templates available from the Welcome screen – Get More, that’s 2018
Earlier versions accessed those from the Corel Guide – Do More tab. The older versions probably use standard definition sizes whereas the later programs have updated some of their templates to HD sizes 1920 x 1080.
Unfortunately the downloads from 2018 are not fully functioning, only the Instant Projects and Graphics install, Font packs install to x10 and Menu packs just do not exist although could be copied from X10, that’s not an option for the new guy purchasing 2018 for the first time. I digress.
All template installs are done individually, there is no single installation pack.
There was a Ulead server that did have the packs to download as a zip, but again installed individually, in the same manner as 2018 does.
If you can be more specific as to which templates you are interested in then I am sure someone will have a copy? But as I say the older templates will probably standard definition.
If you read the topics here you may find some useful info, if you do find broken links please tell us so we can do a bit of a clean, cheers

and Ken provided a post to download X3 templates, you would need X3 installed to use these installation files.

Re: VS templates
Hi Trevor
Thank you for your reply. There are several problems with the mentioned files for download. Probably Ulead imtroduced this system, what is not really effective. The templates (get more files) have a basic problem, they are not named correctly ( relation to their content), ie it is impossible to search them. Also the links are just the universal download files, even if you unpack them their name usually does not say anything about the content, ie. One needs to open them, and find out how does it work and maybe rename them for the future use.
Yesterday I modified over 2 hours the HD025 template to suit my recent requirement - two independent pictures with some decoration on the screen (dialog with two cameras). I would name such templates probably as DualPiPx.vst ( x are for different versions).
I was searching yesterday also this forum for templates (4 hits), so the user will probably not find anything, except probably the disc menues.
My idea is to classify somehow those ready made templates and make them available for the forum members.
It is just an idea, maybe other members will have also some suggestions etc. those vst files are very small, there is usually no need for extreme capacity.
Eugen

Re: VS templates
Hi
It has always been an issue in not identifying the Instant Project templates, has been raised over many a year.
Until recently, before X10 the Corel Guide – Do More provided individual templates, each downloaded and installed as a separate file to populate the library most of which I don’t need, and there are a lot.
Although X10 and 2018 does allow us to download all templates as a package they are again installed individually, so no change there.
My work-round was to download and install without populating the program library.
I simply rename the VSTemplates folder to create to “VSTemplates¬_ copy”.
Then installing templates would populate a new VST Template folder.
Provided I did not run Video Studio I would rename the folders again to preserve the new folder as “My VSTemplates” containing the new templates. My library would then remain as is using the original VSTemplates folder, after a quick rename.
I can now open each template to view its content, every template folder contains a VSP file.
And if I like it I can edit the template replacing the placeholders, then File Export as Template would create my own copy with my own unique name, that would now populate the library.
By the way there is a BMP image within the templates folder, that is used for the libraries clip view.
If you like you can change that bmp image to any of your liking but must retain the same file name.
Clear as mud
