PSP 2019 Installation question

Post by arturox »

A while ago when I purchased PSP 2018 I received via download an Installer.exe, a small pre app that proceeded to download and install PSP 2018, but I never had a PSP2018.exe type file I could backup in case of catastrophe.
Corel support had no idea what I was talking about or asking for, but eventually I did manage to get a PSP 2018.exe (The file was called psp2018_pro.zip).

As many of you will now know Win 10 updates are liable to cause all manner of problems, including as in my case a while back a total mess up (fruitier words were initially used) of the computer requiring a complete reinstall.

So my question is this...
Are Corel using the same useless method to distribute PSP 2019? (Sans access to a psp2019_pro.zip file)

Thanks

Yes it uses the same installer. If you watch for it you can find the zip file that it downloads and back that up.

I have a vague recollection I tried that with PSP2018 but never managed to find where it put it.

Thanks for that thought.

I downloaded the 32bit trial and did find it, but while I was looking for the psp2019-en-32.zip the installer had rushed off and installed the damn thing without asking me where I wanted it installed. :-{

Obviously installing it in a place where apps are not permitted to be installed on my computers.

Uninstalled the darn thing PDQ.
Uho! The uninstaller froze at 85 percent and just sat there... I eventually (8 minutes later) manually got rid of the Uninstaller window then did a Registry search to find how much PSP 2019 garbage remained... A bit but not a massive amount.

Extracted the zip and manually ran the installation.
PSP2019 trial now installed correctly where I want it.

I'll now have a play...

Best news ever, it will use the PSP 2018 Workspace file...
