Splitscreen in VS Pro
Hey, guys, I need help with split screen. I don`t know how to use or make split screen templates.
Is there anyone who could help me?
This is printscreen of a VS that I use. You see, I see that split screen is mentioned here but I don`t know how to use it.

Re: Splitscreen in VS Pro
Well, this video doesn`t explain how to remove numbers.
When I insert videos in template they are still there.

Re: Splitscreen in VS Pro
It doesn't need to explain - because they just vanish when you put your clip in the timeline - as shown in that tutorial

Re: Splitscreen in VS Pro
Okay. Thank you for your answer.
I still don`t know how to use splitscreen because every time some effects turn on even if I didn`t choose that.
Whenever I put some video in placeholder something strange happens. Every time I see some different effect/transition.
Does anyone know how to turn them off? Whenever I try to remove them (in the same way I remove transitions in other videos) I actually delete the whole video in place holder.
Making split screen videos is very important to me. I mean, that`s the main reason I want to buy this. My trial version expires in two days and I am about making a decision.
Tutorial mentioned above doesn`t show that problems. It isn`t that easy.
When they put a video in place holder there are no effects but in my case they exist.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Splitscreen in VS Pro
Perhaps someone will be able to help you if you list in detail your workflow, that is, what exactly you are doing and in what order and what you see.

Re: Splitscreen in VS Pro
OK - sounds like you are not matching the length of the videos to the length of the split screens tracks and because of that Videostudio is applying a transition to merge the two tracks
I am assuming you are using the supplied templates and not trying to create a template from scratch
first requirement is that all the videos you want to use are the same length and match the length of the split screen template - SO when you drag down and place (or otherwise insert ) the split screen template you need to set all the black tracks which it inserts to the same length as your videos - do that by double clicking on each one individually - this will open the options panel which if you look has 3 tabs along the top - by default the panel opens on the 'effect' tab - change to the 'edit' tab - in the top left corner there you will see a small digital clock - click on the number you want to change (hours:minutes:seconds:frames ) to set the time using the up/down arrows to the length of you video - repeat for all tracks
now when you drag your videos down from the library as you get anywhere over the black holder in a timeline - WHILE STILL HOLDING THE LEFT MOUSE KEY DOWN press the ctrl key - now release the left key before the ctrl key and when you do release that the new video should now exactly replace the black placeholder without any effects being added
the lowest track added by the template is the split lines onscreen - if you do not want those lines you can just delete the very lowest black place holder

Ok, I realised that I shouldn`t drag videos from "tracks" but from "edit" part of software.
I will try the other way now.
Thanks a lot, man!
You really helped me.
Tomorrow my trial version expires so I need to find out if I should buy it.
You did a great effort to explain me what I should do.
Thanks a lot!

Re: Splitscreen in VS Pro
Hi
What you are doing is overlapping the two clips, VS then adds the transition, not what you want.
You need to replace the clip.
Move the MVI 9433.Mov to the library
Now drag the library clip over the placeholder on Overlay track
As you drag the clip press the CTRL key – drop the clip then release Ctrl
A tool tip should show to replace clip.
