Hey guys, I am all about buying VS (Pro or Ultimate). I am using trial version of Pro now, but I don`t know how to make some split screen.
I haven`t found useful the official VS tutorial. I just cannot find in my user interface that thing that is shown in official video.
My UI looks like this and I don`t know how to choose two or three videos for split screen nor to choose template for it.
Thanks a lot, guys!

Hi
A little confusion using Split Screen templates from the library
The Instant Projects library has a section for Split Screen, top option, these are in fact Instant Project Templates , same as the other templates, beginning , middle etc. they do not open the Split Screen Editor
When we use the Split Screen Editor we can Export as a Template this will create an instant Project Template as above, with the clip showing in the IP library.
also from the SS editor choosing OK we are taken back to VS timeline showing the new Split Screen effect
A clip also populates the Media Library, these are true Split Screen templates, double clicking those will open the SS Editor again to continue editing.
They do react similar to IP templates as we can drag them to the timelines, they also use the same file name extension .vsmontage
This does cause the confusion if you expect the IP template to open the Split Screen Editor.

Re: Using/Creating split screen templates
I have Videostudio 2018 Ultimate .
I have one question about the use of Split Screen templates.
Can this template only been used in the beginning of a film or also in other parts of the video?
In my case I only can use this feature at the start of a video.

Re: Using/Creating split screen templates
Once the templates have been added to the timeline we can select the template clips and move them along the timelines to any point provided the overlay tracks are clear to do that.
Most templates as far as i can tell occupy the overlay tracks
Shift + Click will select the clips

Re: Using/Creating split screen templates
Hey, guys, your answers were really useful for me, but I still don`t know how to insert video in template. For example, I have a triangle in the template and I want to put a video in that triangle. I was trying but I didn`t realise how to do it.

Hi
Make sure your triangle is from the Splitting Tools and not a Graphics
Then drag the clips from the left hand panel to the triangle or the appropriate numbered clip below the preview screen.
