Perfectly Clear - Access Violation

Post by ellington »

Hi Been using PaintShop Pro 2019 for a couple of weeks now from a download. Everything works fine except for Athentech Perfectly Clear 3.5. which does work but only allows between 3 and 6 photos to be adjusted before giving the "Plugin caused access violation" At this point I need to close down PSP and reopen and get another 3 or 4 photos done before it happens again. I have tried removing Perfectly clear and reinstalling to no effect. Also removed PSP and reinstalled the whole set, again without any difference to the end result. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just tried that with about 5- 6 images loaded, in PSP 2019 64 bit version and can confirm the same result after about 5 successful operations. Seems this is not properly attuned to PSP.

I typically don't use the 64-bit version of 2019 but I just tested it out and find that after running about 4 images through Perfectly Clear that PSP 2019 crashes. I get the following:

Based on the excellent verification posted above I just opened nine .jpg files in PSP 2018 and applied Perfectly Clear SE v3 to each. I did not experience any crashes. So the problem is either in PSP 2019 or Perfectly Clear v3.5.
Had PS3, PSP3; Installed: PSP-4.12, 5.03, 6.02, 7.04 (liked it a lot & used it for years), 8.00, XI, x4.3.0.3, x6.2.0.20, x7.4.0.11, x8.3.0.13, x9.2.0.7; now using PSPx10 (PSP 2018; version 20.2.0.1 x64) on Win 10-64 b2004.

I can verify ehume's results. The two changes 1. to PSP 2019 and 2. Perfectly Clear 3.5 cause problems.

I tested using PSP 2019 64 bit and the full Plugin version of Perfectly Clear 3.5.8.1239 and had no problems. I edited 12 open images one after the other in Perfectly Clear, and I had no crash. I'm running the latest Win 10 1809 version.

Makes me wonder if the PSP 2019 version of PC that fails is 3.5 SE or 3.5 full version. Q for patara - which version of PC 3.5 are you running?

All of this makes me glad I decided to stick with PSP 2018, with Perfectly Clear 1,2 from earlier builds and 3 from PSP 2018.

I'm using the full retail Plugin version of Perfectly Clear. Because I own that I never installed the SE that comes with Corel PSP Ultimate.
My version is 3.5.8.1239 and is the latest available

The Version i bought, downloaded and installed is PSP 2019 21.0.0.119 x64 and PC 3.5.7.0 I have tried it now on two PC's with the same result. Never more than 5 or six photo's before the access violation. My previous version of PSP was X9 with Perfectly Clear 2.0.1 SE. That works fine but was looking forward to the new version in PSP 2019 with the added features. I have tried re-downloading with the link I have which has made no difference. I think the link has now expired as i had no photos to work on originally and never thought it would give problems as all the other versions have worked well from the start. Any suggestions would be welcome.

You can COPY PCv2 from C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X9 (64-bit)\Plugins\PerfectlyClearForPSP [folder] to C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro 2019 (64-bit)\Plugins\PerfectlyClearForPSP. Luckily PSP 2018 comes with PCv3, so I copied PCv1 from PSPx7 and PCv2 from PSPx9. Now I have all three plugins when I select 'Athentech' under 'Plugins.'

Thanks for the reply ehume but unfortunately by doing that I just end up with version 2.0.1.SE which I can still use in X9. One of the reasons for upgrading was for version 3.5. Having used it the difference in the features makes it so much more attractive having used it, all be it for a small number of times before having to re start the program I would like to continue. Also in my PC which is older it works faster than the version in P

Hi
Having had 4 or 5 suggestions from Corel Support, all without a result other than 3 photos through Perfectly Clear before the access violation box comes up to stop you without re starting PSP, I just wondered if anyone who has experienced the problem has any further ideas. Or anyone new who could shed some light on this.

thanks

I haven't been able to get PClear to work either in 2018 or 2019 versions. Immediately get 'access violation'. This is even with the PCP included in the 2019 ultimate package.
