A problem has developed recently:
Most of my photos are geotagged by the camera. Where the tags are missing I use PaintShop Pro 2018 to add the geotags (this was why I bought the software - it used to do this very neatly). The situation seems to be:
* Geotagged photos opened in the mapping window show correctly on the map.
* Starting from an ungeotagged image, opening up the map, typing in a location, the message "add 1 photo to this location" appears and the geotagging facility works.
* In the above case, when the map opens in the required region without typing in a new location, the green location pointer is present in the top lefty corner. Clicking this, the pointer moves with the mouse, the "add 1 photos to this location" message appears but it "sticks" to the mouse pointer so the "OK" cannot be clicked. Occasionally it will eventually release and work, more often it releases and the "remove location" message appears and the image is not geotagged.
* The way I work most often is to open the map with a mixture of geotagged and untagged images all from the same location. Positioning the green marker should allow the group of imagers to be tagged with the same location. Instead the "remove location" message appears. In the past this worked fine.
Corel Customer support have made a few suggestions none of which have worked. These seem to be similar suggestions to what other users have passed on for previous problems with the geotagging facility in earlier versions.
I have downloading a trial version of PaintshopPro 2019 and it exhibits the same problems.
32 and 64 bit versions have the same problem.
I downloaded and installed the 2019 trial version on a second PC which had not previously had any version installed. This has the same problem.
My conclusion is that there is a bug in the software rather than my machines. I await further advice from Corel.
My suspicion is that the interface to google maps has not been correctly updated by Corel.
Can anyone either confirm my experience or find the program working correctly please?

I am getting the same problem as your point 3
" In the above case, when the map opens in the required region without typing in a new location, the green location pointer is present in the top lefty corner. Clicking this, the pointer moves with the mouse, the "add 1 photos to this location" message appears but it "sticks" to the mouse pointer so the "OK" cannot be clicked. Often when clicking the location on the map it goes through the OK Cancel screen and asks if you want to remove the data . This feature seems to have had problems for Corel in the first instance because they did not update the capability when Google made some changes so it caused a hung application with a repeating warning message.
In any case the only time I bother to use this is to check when someone has a problem.
Having brought up with many earlier versions of PSP whiich did not have this function I have never really missed it and its non functionality.

I've always found geotagging in PSP (I'm still on X9) unreliable; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't which is why I use Geosetter:

Re: Mapping Problem in PaintShop Pro 2018
Thanks for the link to geosetter.
When I try to use the maps from geosetter, a message from Google appears "This page can't load Google Maps correctly".
Proceeding from there, the map is greyed out with messages "For development purposes only" overprinted. However the geotagging facility does seem to work.
I haven't investigated in depth but have found something about Google limiting the number of free calls made to their maps by applications like this. Possibly Corel have been caught by this same change from Google.

Re: Mapping Problem in PaintShop Pro 2018
UPDATE
I have had an extensive interchange with Corel Customer Support trying to resolve this problem. Their various suggestions failed to achieve anything.
Eventually I sent them two sample test files which showed up the problem I was finding to see if they could reproduce it. After not getting a response, I asked what was happening with reply: "I am still seeking assistance from my next level of support on this issue. will get back to you."
The next communication was: "I am writing to let you know that I will be closing your case." I've replied to say the problem isn't resolved.
There has been no indication of whether Corel experienced the same problem or not on my test files. It seems to me that if they failed to reproduce the fault, Corel would have said so and put it down to something wrong at my end. So my conclusion is that they have had the same experience, a fault is present in the software but it is not being admitted to.
Every time I open the software I get an invitation to buy an upgrade to Paintshop Pro 2019. A trial version showed the same fault.

@Brian45,
That's what you get for expecting to get any reasonable help from the mis-named Corel Support.
