I have been finding 2019 to be quite stable, and the only - and major - issue is the crop tool needing to be fixed. What are the chances that the update will address that issue I wonder? Otherwise, unless the update also offers new features I'm not sure what issues an update is needed for.

Joe, my guess is that the chances it will be addressed are very slim. Many complaints were raised when 2018 was issued and nothing changed and we saw no responses from the developers to those comments. I will be pleasantly surprised if there is a reaction.

Hi guys
I`m going round in circles trying to install this update!. First I ask PSP2019 if there are any updates and it says no then I wonder maybe the update given above is not seen by my version so I try and install it and it fails at 1% saying the location of PSPPro.msi is incorrect. I installed PSP2019 on my D partition and can`t seem to find where if any PSPPro.msi resides??. My shortcut on the desktop just shows the .exe to run it on the D partition any ideas where it is please and how come my version says I`m upto date when I haven`t updated it since it was released?. My version is 21.0.0.119 x64
thanks

This update has not been officially released yet. Don't use it. This has come up before, Corel uses the same naming scheme for each update so I'm guessing Radim just randomly tries a direct download using the next name in the pattern and then reports when it finally offers a download. However, until it's officially released and information goes out it's possible that Corel will upload a new program before that point. SO it's best not to download from this topic, but wait for the actual download from the Corel website.

It may make no difference at all as well. But until the official release we won't know that.

I don't see any official release message from Corel ...

EDIT : OK, now I see it when I click on Help / Check for update...

Installation is a nightmare.
I needed to unzip a previous PSP2019_ult.zip file (found in Download folder).
Each time the installation stopped and displayed an error message, I needed to browse to the extracted folder...

The version is now 21.1.0.22

When I check for updates I see it and when I go to paintshoppro.com and look under patches I see it. Don't know if it's out everywhere, but that's usually the most official I see coming from Corel.

Here are the release notes:

Recommendation:
This update might affect workspace customizations. If you customize your workspace, save (File > Workspace > Save) before you install the update so that you can reload the workspace later.

Doesn't look like they fixed the rotating-image "feature."

Nor the issue of added space around the image using the crop tool, or at least providing an option to use the legacy crop tool before 2018. But that shouldn't be surprising. Corel isn't noted for listening to what users actually want. At best they fix a few bugs, but they continue to think that "Corel knows best" when it comes to whether a "feature" is useful to most users or not. Pathetic.

I can't remember what thread it was, but a little while ago someone posted an issue asking why the image within the crop rectangle wasn't the same color intensity as the original. It was because the Enhance Photo option was on by default so that the crop was "enhanced". :-)

It seems a bizarre time to apply the enhancement.
