Hi:
I am having trouble with paint-brushing from my palette. When I choose Paintbrush
and then a color, the color (although showing) doesn't "paint". I may have done something,
unknowingly. I have already attempted the resetting, but to no avail. So, all due respect,
what may I have done wrong? Thanks,
Carl

Re: Restoring PSP8 Palette Colors
Be specific about what type of resetting you have done.
1. You can reset a tool from the Presets dropdown,
2. You can reset PSP to its default settings by holding the Shift key down when you start the program.
Note that resetting a paint tool to its default does not turn off Texture and you may have inadvertently turned that on and as such the paiint brush will not paint normally.

hi....by reset, I meant "File-Preferences-Reset Preferences". The colors in the palette
although showing as the representative color, do not "paint" in the brush.

Is your Blend mode set to Normal ?
Do you have an invisible selection somewhere ?

Re: Restoring PSP8 Palette Colors
Have you checked the settings for the paintbrush? Is opacity a reasonably high value?

Re: Restoring PSP8 Palette Colors
OK that information on how you reset would have been useful in your first post as would a cropped image showing the effect you were getting.
What I did
1. Blank white canvas chose paintbrush tool set large enough size, changed density to 40, Opacity to 40 , Blend mode to Color, Stroke color to a dark color and double clicked the Foreground and Stroke properties color box and chose a texture.
2. Painting with this combination gave nothing.
3. Using File > Preferences > Reset Preferences did not change any of the characteristics of teh brush and it still painted nothing.
4. Clicking the down arrow beside the Presets and then in the drop down box clicking the Reset to Defaults button set everything (even the Brush Variance) back to default EXCEPT it did not turn off the Texture so the brush now painted but with a texture to it. 5. I had to manually turn off the Texture to get back to normal paintbrush strokes. This failure to turn off Texture when doing a tool reset to default is I believe a Bug from at least back to Jasc PSP 8 days.
