If you do not need x8 then it makes sense to stick with x10
When I install video studio I always install the oldest first, so I would uninstall both programs,
Install x8 then x10.
One more thought, if the program is trying to access the internet but having problems, that could cause the program to hang.
Try disconnecting the internet, then run x8
Running out of ideas?
