Vitascene not working in VS Ultimate X10

Good morning,

Vitascene not working anymore in my VS Ultimate X10. When I play a personal Instant Project I've made using Vitascene, everything is playing right. When I want to modify Vitascene filter, it tells me that I have the licence for VS X4 up to X8 and asking me the *.mtkey file / licence for X10. I've made a search of my computer and the only *.mtkey files I've found are for RotoPen, Script and Vitascene under X8. Rotopen and Script are functional in X10 and I can modify them.

I am wondering if you get this because you used an Instant Project template. I've just created a standard project (i.e. not an Instant Project) in X10 and applied Vitascene. It worked fine when I clicked out of Vitascene and returned to X10. I could also go back into Vitascene and adjust it further. I got no request for a licence key.

Have you tried doing what you want in a standard project instead of using Instant Project? (I imagine the latter should work nonetheless, but I personally simply have never used Instant Projects, so cannot comment on how they might be different from a standard project.)

Incidentally, the only .mtkey files I can find on my computer are for Rotopen and Script. Nothing for the other proDAD filters including Vitascene.

Started a new project and Vitascene reacts the same asking for a licence key (*.mtkey). I have PowerDirector 16 and Vitascene came with it. I can use it without any problem. I had PowerDirector 13 until recently and I had no problem with VS Ultimate X8 and X10. Now, Vitascene is a problem in X10. My X4, X6 starts without problem. My X8 splash screen starts, then quits, therefore not able to use X8 no more.

Hi
You may have two separate issues here

For x10, find the Bonus Features folder from your program downloads
Run that to install the entire pack again.

For x 8 try resetting the program by renaming the 18.0 folder to 18.0-old (within the roaming folder structure)

I ran the Bonus Features for X10. Vitascene is back, working fine. But, now it is not working in PowerDirector. I've installed again Vitascene provided by Cyberlink when purchased. It worked again in Cyberlink, but not in VideoStudio. Re-installed Bonus Features, same thing. I will write to Cyberlink.

As for X8, I went to C:\Users\Proprio\AppData\Roaming\Corel. Is it the right place ? I don't think so, because I see nothing about VideoStudio (see image).

Not Corel folder, Ulead System.
I made a shortcut to that folder on my desktop so I can go there anytime.

Thank you asik1. I was working on VS X10 when I've received your answer.

Indeed, 18.0 is under Ulead and I had found it. But, after renaming the folder, I tried to start X8. Splash screen appeared and disappeared shortly after. At my third trial, X8 started (see image). The library was building up and suddenly everything frozed. At my fifth trial, the splash screen appeared, disappeared, but I could see the « building up » of the library. I then deleted the 18.0 folder and tried a sixth time to start X8. Splash screen started, new 18.0 folder appeared and I still could see the library building up. VideoStudio Ultimate X8 still not opening.

You mentioned using Instant Projects, if one of those is causing a problem
Go to VSPTemplates folder, it's within the documents structure - Corel video studio -
Rename the folder to VSPTemplates-old

Delete the 18.0 folder
Try running x8

Non changes, Trevor. I don't get further than the Splash screen who disappears not long after.

After deleting or renaming the old folder, you have to be patient while the reopening program rebuilds all its databases. This takes time. For me it can take 5 - 7 minutes before the program is fully ready to reopen. I get the impression from all your retries that you are not allowing sufficient time...

Everytime I've deleted or renamed a folder. I was waiting before to start VS X8. The splash screen always plays between 30 and 60 seconds before disapearing. I see the different « Library building up » for about one to two minutes and nothing else appear. Twice I've waited over 30 minutes before trying Something. I even restarted my computer.

It looks Jaro that you will have to take Trevor's favorite remedy for all illness and....... reinstall X10.

X10 afaik is working ok, that was a vitascene problem, it's x 8 that will not start

JaRo, I assume you are starting vs from the desktop icon or start menu and not double clicking a vsp?

Did you rename the VSPTemplates folder? Then rename the 18.0

I ask that because if you have an instant projects template that is corrupt it could be trying to load that to the library and failing.

Otherwise I think Asiks idea to reinstall x8 may be the quicker option?

Both VSPTemplates and 18.0, under Users\Documents, renamed. VS X8 doesn't start. If I reinstall X8, will it or could it interact with X10 and give me other problems ? If so, since X10 is working perfectly right now, it might be a better idea to use X10 and wait for another version like 2019, if it's worth it, since 2018 had not much new things vs X10. Is it the same for 2019 vs 2018 ?
