Buttonize Effect
Is there a way to buttonize a circle using Effects>3D>Buttonize? I've tried selecting just the circle, but the entire image ends up looking like a tile. Various tutorials for making web buttons have several steps, but I'd like to find a shorter way to create a button. If I can do it using Bevel, what are the settings? (Clicking the dice was changing the main color of the circle too much.)

Re: Buttonize Effect
You can read about the 3D effects here:
http://help.corel.com/paintshop-pro/v20 ... fects.html
Instructions for the Buttonise effects say "You can use the Buttonize effect to simulate square or rectangular buttons created from any selection," So perhaps not good with a circle.
Instead try Inner Bevel.
1. Use Magic wand to select your circle and promote to new layer
2 Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
Use Bevel #2 , Width 15 , Smootness 80, Depth 90, Ambience 0, Shininess 50 as a starter.
Experiment with those values and see their effects at the extremes of teh scale.
Unfortunately the shadow effect is too black for my liking and I would like a control to be able to change that .

Re: Buttonize Effect
Thank you. I'll work on it.
I used something similar when I created the head of a tack a while back. What I can't seem to achieve is the domed and shininess effect that I'd like. My old Jasc PSP 7 (or 8?) has some buttons in Preset Shapes, but I'd need to retain style in order to get the shape, and doing that I cannot get the color I want. I have a feeling that I may have to just "bite the bullet" and use the tutorials that create and move around multiple layers, etc. etc..
Unfortunately, the steps have to be repeated for each color used, and it's not as easy as leaving settings in place.
Maybe I'm just getting old and impatient!
