I have a question about editing commercials out of a recorde

Post by e_a_g_l_e_p_i »

I have a video of a TV show from the late 70s that I need to edit the video so that the commercials are not in it and also remove other parts. I haven't used VideoStudio 10 X Much at all since buying it and I'm sure this is why I'm unable to complete this at it.

When I try to edit using the scissors instead of cutting out portions throughout the timeline it seems like I'm deleting either the end of it at the beginning of it. Is there a good tutorial out there that would show me how to actually edit a video specifically to remove parts and keep the other parts of the whole video?

Every tutorial I find on editing doesn't specifically talk about what I'm trying to do it shows all the editing features and it's very confusing.

I appreciate any help

Review the instruction in this image
Editing to remove parts of a video clip_1.jpg
Repeat as often as needed to remove ads, render or re-render as required to create new files.

A final note about quality (resolution) - any TV that old will be less than VHS resolution, so so don't expect too much.
If the show was captured on a CD or DVD - import parts of the disk as chapters and remove the ads from each chapter, one by one, until you have parts to your satisfaction that you can re-assemble in a vsp and re-render into a final clip.

Thanks that's exactly what I was looking for. I just hope it's as easy as it sounds, I found that when you don't use a program to often what's easy to many is often difficult.

Yes, I have no expectations about the quality of the video, I actually captured it from a VHS onto my computer so it was never going to have the great quality of resolution. Back in the late 70s, my mother-in-law was on the game show Price is Right And it's something that a lot of people like to see because they've heard of her being on it throughout the years they never actually saw the actual video. Nowadays when you can carry videos on your phone that's what I'd like to do is get it edited without the commercials so that as we meet friends I can show them if they want to see it and they don't have to sit through and watch all commercials. The quality of the video isn't important, it's who's on the video and what she's doing that is.

Thanks for your reply and your tutorial I really do appreciate it
