Windows File Extensions

Actually, people should never have Windows extensions turned off. It's dangerous not to be able to see the actual extension of a file you might double-click, thinking it will open a program like a graphic viewer for example when it might actually be an exe file that executes some malware. For a company that touts Security like Microsoft does, being able to hide extensions was one pretty stupid move.

I agree with you wholeheartedly: all my computers have this "functionality" turned off. But note I said "turned off." Windows 7 and Windows 10 come with invisible extensions -- by default they do not show filetypes.
