How to install an upgrade version of PSP on a clean computer

Post by Mimmi »

I have the latest 8 versions of PSP installed. If I'm going to buy a new computer could I just install 2019. Most of the versions are upgrades from the earlier ones. The question is: Could I just install 2019? Don't the installer need to detect an earlier version? Is there a way to know if the version I have is an upgrade or a Full version? I suppose the earliest on I have is X4 must be a full version.

Sorry for my English - hope you understand what I mean.

Upgrade pricing just means you get a discount for owning a previous version. These are not "upgrade versions" they are the full program. So, yes, just install 2019 like normal.

I would assume you do need a previous version installed if you want to install the latest version on a new computer. Which version is not important, I would think.
Corel needs to find files that show you upgrade to the latest version from any previous one, or you would get installation problems?

As you say that is an assumption.
Has anyone actually tried to install a latest version upgrade on a new computer without any previous whole versions installed (Whole = full paid version)
Does it search for a file / files on your computer or check if you are a registered user on Corel's site of a full version.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Yes I have, and no it does not. The upgrade is pricing only, not an "upgrade" version of the newest software. You are buying the full software at a special price.
