2018 text insertion

Since updating to 2018 SP3, I've noticed an irritating thing about text insertion:
1. the first time the text item is selected after opening the programme,
2. that double click to insert message appears in the preview window
3. double clicking and typing doesn't work - the message just blinks but no text inserted, but because you've always had it work, and starting typing, the project vsp begins to play; and sometimes you get an odd scissors "cut" clip in the main timeline where the time marker was and you wanted the text to be inserted there. And the preview window returns to the " double click to insert" message
4. double clicking again, and text insertion works as previously normal.
5. thereafter, every time text to be inserted in this session - text insertion works normally
6. close and re-open program, repeat of 2 thru 5.

Anyone else had this sort of experience??

I was having other issues with the program that needed a re-install although that did not fix my problem
The point is I am running the release version, no patches, no problems that you describe.
Installed SP2
Double clicking the preview screen does not show the text box, just flicks / refreshes, double clicking again shows the text box / curser and I can type.
As you say after that things seem to work ok
If I go to Share, back to Edit and the problem shows again having to double click the screen twice.

I have not experienced the scissors or playing the project, as yet

I will install SP3 after a few more tests then reply later
