1 / add a video to the top timeline, I tried MTS and MPEG4 types
2 / Apply FX Average
3 / double click clip to open options panel for Customise Filter
4 / Drag Cell Size slider as far right as you can
5 / Halo timer shows, Program closes, no errors
Can anybody replicate this problem?

Tried to duplicate but my Ryzen and A10 boxes both worked just fine.

I also couldn't replicate, Trevor. Average works fine on my setup, Win 10, VS 2018.

Hi Trevor,
Not sure what you mean by halo timer, but applying the filter and doing the slider thing you describe really blurs out the image, but the program plays the whole clip and doesn't crash.

Update
after trying all reset options i reverted to my Graphics drivers, found a cleanup tool on AMD site then installed my drivers
seems to have fixed this problem.
At the moment running 2018 version 21.2.0.113
see what happens when i go to SP3
