Re: Exported quality not as good as original
Probably we missunderstood you. The VS is a video editor designed for video standards ( offered in the rendering site). The video standards have their rules and I cannot remember any, using 75 fps. This means you will not get back the original 75 fps video because it will be slowed down to 25,50,30,60 fps. and in this form will be presented on standard TV sets ( in Germany 25/50 fps). You cannot change this fact! Every frame on TV will have standard 20 ms duration. The 75 fps recoding on TV set will appear as a slowmo and 1 original second will be streched to 1,5 second.
You can probably speed up your video, to get those 75 frames into one second on your VS time line. This will reproduce the original speed. This speed up process in VS means that VS drops some frames from your original to achieve the original speed and time of recording.

Re: Exported quality not as good as original
Hi VideoNoob
Are you able to record a few seconds of video, then share that file by uploading to a sharing site, Google Drive, One Drive, Dropbox etc.
The problem has been mentioned that Video Studio does not support 75fps, that is the timeline cannot be set to 75fps
If the timeline is set to 25 fps and you add the 75fps video, 50 of those frames will be discarded and that a big impact on quality
If the project uses 50p then 25 fps will be discarded again impacting on quality.
I have never tried to edit 75fps so cannot say if we could find a workround
My thoughts go to using a project using 100fps which Video Studio will support.
Adding a 75 fps video will have 25fps added, this effectively duplicates frames within the existing video.
I would think the impact on quality would be minimal.
Playback may show a stutter / judder as the duplicates are being played, more noticeable with fast moving video.
You would then render using Same as project creating a 100fps video.
Could be worth a try, but as I say I have never used 75fps video.
With the fps frame rate in mind using NTSC 60P would only drop 15 frames whereas Pal at 50 drops 25frames.
A second option, just a consideration would be to rip the actual video into images, one for each frame, then reconstruct the video using 60fps, that would change the duration of the video and speed up playback, also remove the audio.

Re: Exported quality not as good as original
Thank you for that sample. But is it the original Garmin video? I note that its name label suggests it is uncut ("ungeschnitten") and perhaps thus implying it is the original. But its frame rate shows as 60 fps, rather than the 75 fps you mentioned earlier; and it plays as though the speed of the bicycles is in real time rather than any slow motion effect.

As I said above, that rendered video clip you provided played smoothly and in real time. It was good. But what we really need is for you to upload a small sample of the original Garmin footage.VideoNoob wrote:Hello Ken, sorry i forgot the explanation.

Re: Exported quality not as good as original
Putting it on You Tube achieves nothing as You Tube routinely re-renders incoming video to meet their own rules. Moreover, in this case the first video does not appear to have been loaded on You Tube since all I get is a black preview screen with a big "!" on one side.
Can't you upload it to Dropbox like you did with the earlier sample?

Re: Exported quality not as good as original
Hi
I cannot use Video Studio to edit that video file.
The problem is the frame rate of 75fps
Although VS does activate the show messages to match the video files properties it does not set 75fps but 60fps.
I then set 100fps from the Project Properties templates, although 100fps shows as the Project Properties only use 60fps for the timeline, that seems unusual.
For me it would be no good as I am in Pal country and would expect 50fps not 60fps.
Even though VS is supposed to edit 100fps and indeed 200fps I am not sure how that would work with the program in its present state.
Playing the video clip showed a distinct pause / stutter approx. 2 seconds intervals as though the program is adjusting for the 60fps to 75fps discrepancy.
I added your video to the 100fps project and rendered same as project settings, again the stutter showed at approx. 1 second intervals.
As a test I have used time lapsed images 400 to render to 100fps, and did create a 4 second video having 400 frames.
I am a little concerned that the project properties show as using 100fps yet the timeline uses a lower frame rate and that just simply seems wrong.
I know there is an issue using mpeg4 templates , for Pal users that reverts to using 30/60fps not 25/50fps. After installing SP3 Corel are aware of that problem.

Re: Exported quality not as good as original
Curiously enough, I had no trouble with that original video at all (Virb 0172). First off, though, I had not noticed the download link below the YouTube link -- and indeed the dracoon link is not active. But I managed to download from there nonetheless.
Having done that, I inserted the clip in the VS library window and checked both the Properties and how it played. Properties certainly showed it as being 75 fps and bitrate of 59999 kbps. In Clip mode, it seemed to play as though the frame rate were the real i.e. natural speed, rate: especially at the start, there is a person walking in the background, and a child approaching the camera. Both seemed to walk at normal rates, neither too slow nor too fast. The bike action also seemed to be playing in real time, though slightly harder to tell, given that the bike ride was naturally fast. Playback was totally smooth, with no stutter at all. And this remained the case in all subsequent playbacks listed below.
I then inserted the clip into the timeline, and got the message asking if I wanted the Project Properties match. I said OK. Checking the Properties showed the Project Settings were identical to the properties of the video, including the 75 fps and 59999 kbps bitrate. And playback in Project mode was exactly the same as in Clip mode. All motion seemed natural speed.
I rendered using Same As First Video Clip. Rendering was quick, and the resulting file played exactly the same as previous playbacks: smooth and seemingly in real time. Frame rate still showed 75 fps and the high quality 59999 kbps bitrate was maintained. And I got the same when I rendered again using Same As Project Settings. I might add that Media Info confirmed these properties.
I used VS version 21.3.0.141 64 bit on the computer listed under my avatar.

It's working in the link you just posted, but still not active in the place where you first placed it above. But as I said, I got it to work, and downloaded the 75 fps video, and had no difficulty with it. It worked smoothly and well. However, I don't understand why you and lata have had difficulty with it.

In my opinion the quality of the Virb-Video ist better than the VideoStudio.Ken Berry wrote:It's working in the link you just posted, but still not active in the place where you first placed it above.
