Could not install PSP2019 Ultimate upgrade. With Support, tried to install PSP2019 upgrade. Kept getting Error 1722
Device:
Installed on XPS-8930 tower having Windows 10, 64-bit.
Scenario
- Originally used EaseUS PCTrans to move PSP2018 from laptop to tower. It claimed success, but app would not work.
- Bought PSP2019 upgrade and tried to install. No go, got Error 1722. So I figured to upgrade would need functioning PSP2018.
- From this board posted by Kathy_9 got Clean Up Tools for 2018 and 2019, as pointed to by Corel Support rep.
Used both as well as CCleaner.
Examining Error 1722 details, I investigated PASMUtility.dll which seems to do with authentication and security during install and each program startup (guessing).
Two folders hold PASMUtility files: Program Files (x86)\Corel and Program Files\Corel (first, x86, is 32-bit, while latter is 64-bit)
I saw Program Files\Corel\PASMUtility\v1\ folder had 6 files, while Program Files (x86)\Corel\PASMUtility\v1\ folder had 1 file.
I copied files from the folder having 6 files into the folder having 1 file.
After 5 days of sweating it out, the PSP2019 install succeeded, as did the other related apps in the Ultimate package. Hope this helps someone.
