PSP 2019 New offer Upgrade

Post by hartpaul »

Just did some operations with PSP X9 and when I closed it received this message/ advert.
PSP2019 Offer.jpg
One advantage of leaving messages available. Could not get it by checking for updates or Messages - just came up in one of those adds at the close of program.

Most annoying!

I accepted the last minute upgrade offer to Ultimate at 64$ Canadian last week. Now I get an advert to upgrade to Ultimate for 48$. I should have waited and will next time. The only reason I upgraded was to get PhotoMirage and decided that, for the same price, I may as well get PSP2019. I'm not impressed with PhotoMirage, especially with the 25fps export. We live in NTSC-land where the export option should be 29.97fps.

And to further confuse the issue, I was just doing something in PSP 2018, and when I closed it I got the upgrade offer to 2019 for NZ$59 which is around A$54 or US$38... I wonder if the offer has something to do with the version number you were using before the ad appeared i.e. an older version getting an even better deal...?

And I have seen a popup from the system tray for $53 australian dollars. So that is now $71 for the special early bird upgrade, then $35 after closing an earlier version (X9) and now from the tray $53. Seems to be a fire sale going on at Corel where the various advertising departments do not know what the others are doing.

I'm still using PSPx8 and the best offer I have received is the A$85.00. Go figure.
I just upgraded my Photoline to v21 for 29 Euros. So 29 Euros is 29 Euros regardless of where you live.

As a new PSP user, I purchased the software so I would not be committed to a subscription like with Adobe.

Ads for the new version is out. I am still learning 2018 so I don't really want to upgrade yet.

Is there any disadvantages to me in skipping upgrades? How many versions back does Corel typically support?

If the pricing strategy is the same as for Video Studio and I have no reason to think otherwise, then the older the version we are using the larger the discount.

example
One year old and we get 10% discount
5 year old and we get a massive 75% maybe 80%

I got PSP 2019 Ultimate for € 18,99 (around 30 AUD)!! Clicking on the little house at the top of 2018 took me to that offer. I couldn't believe it.
All above board though, and am now the proud owner of PSP 2019 Ultimate for less than € 19. It was only for a week and in the first week of 2019 being released.
Opened X7 today and when closing there was a pop-up offering me the 2019 Ultimate for € 27,99 (around 45 AUD).
Normally it's around € 54 (87 AUD) for an upgrade

FWIW I have just received an email from Corel. A$129.00 for PSP2019 or A$89.00 for the upgrade. (Note I'm still with PSPx8 so my offer is for A$129.00. Hardly a bargain).

I thought the upgrade price applied to any earlier version of PSP, so wouldn't that have given you a price of A$89?

In any case, coincidentally, I also received the same offer today (despite my earlier and much cheaper offer reported above). But I got this one via an email rather than in a message after closing an earlier version of the program.

That's correct. I just went to Corel's site and clicked on the upgrade eligibility link and took a screen-shot.
