Nevermind, it finally started. It took 10 minutes to start but it finally started. I guess when I want to use it, I'm going to have to plan ahead and start it 10 minutes before I'm ready to work next time.

No I haven't tried that, Ken. I guess I will next time I have problems with it. I ordered VS x9 a couple years ago online, but I guess if I downloaded it online it should still be ok to reinstall, right?

I'm just saying, I don't have the disk, but I paid for the online version.

So what have you changed (manually or "updated") in your system that causes VS to start so slowly?

If you have the downloaded package saved, you should be able to re-install or even do a repair

I haven't downloaded anything new unless it was a recent windows update. I guess I do have the downloaded package. I'm not sure. So when you say a repair, do you mean go into control panel and select repair?

The last time I can recall something like this - early 2016 - a windows update for various versions changed something that completely borked all versions of VS, including just released X9. Corel wasn't the only vendor affected, and Corel had to issue hasty hotfixes to even get the program to launch at all. There's a hotfixes item at the head of the board with a range of details on this, hereviewtopic.php?f=1&t=58892.

But your program did finally launch. So, given past experience, I would suspect any recent updates to windows before anything else. If it's repeatable ie with every new PC start or even every new start or re-start of VS, more details please
