I assume you have checked for malware ?
A while ago and maybe before W10, there was a couple pieces of software called “Search Protect” “search conduit” or similar names.
Don't think they showed up as malware but certainly affected internet connections.
You can check Program and Features for any unusual or unwanted programs?

Hi Trevor,

I used Malwarebytes to do a full scan and nothing showed up, and Programs and Features, but nothing untoward.

I wish I knew a way to compare the laptop with my pc to see what the difference is.

Am still waiting for Corel to call me.

Try Belarc Advisor
That will scan the pc, save the details as a TXT, do for both pc’s

Hi Trevor,

I am glad to report that the issue has now been solved by Corel.

The solution was in the regedit file in:

Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.css

The Content Type should be 'text/css' and not as it was, namely 'application.css' (or a near equivalent, I don't exactly recall as Corel did it quickly remotely).

All now installing as it should.
