In the main forum @LindLou requested a script that is available that draws a grid on a vector layer above the layer you're working on. The script was created in 2007 by Peter Anderson, aka Panda.
When you have an open image, you run the script. It creates a vector layer and opens various dialogues that allow you to create a custom grid drawn on that layer. You can set the color of the grid lines, the thickness of the lines, and the number of lines you want or the spacing between the lines. The main advantages of the script are (a) you can set the line colors and line thickness, and (b), because it is drawn on a vector layer you can move the grid to position it as needed (which seem to be the main objectives that LindaLou was looking for in a grid). You can even use the Pick tool in Vector mode to be able to just move individual lines or right-click on any line and delete it from the context menu.
I have attached the script in a zip file, which you can unzip and then place in your Scripts Restricted folder. And, for those who aren't sure, you don't have to place scripts in the folders that were created by your PSP installation. I, for example, have a folder on my E drive called My PSP Files that I created myself. One of the subfolders within that folder is one named Scripts Restricted, and that's where I store all third party restricted scripts that I download or scripts that I create myself.
