I just tried DaVinci Resolve.

It continous to playback no matter what I do! I can split files, I can zoom, scroll, I can do anything I want!

And then I can MANUALLY PRESS PAUSE WHEN I WANT TO.

This will make perfect workflow for me.

Sorry Corel but DaVinci Resolve simply feels faster and less clunky to use.

You're comparing a single user editor, i.e. VS, to DaVinci Resolve 15 Studio that has multi-user collaboration features that let editors, colorists, effects artists and sound engineers all work together on the same project at the same time.

DaVinci costs at least 3 times as much as VS but it does support Dynamic Trimming. So, if Dynamic Trimming is a requirement for you, then you should buy DaVinci and enjoy.

Umm... no. Resolve has come in an extremely sophisticated free version for several versions now. The latest (15.0) was released just a few days ago. For the first time it includes in the free version the well reviewed Fusion compositing program.

Resolve also comes in a "Studio" version which is even more sophisticated and costs US$300 -- so I imagine that is the one tletter is referring to. But it should be noted that the learning curve for both is extremely steep.

This software is not free. Obviously the Studio version includes many features not found in the free version (see https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... arison.pdf) but these features may not be of interest to you.

Sorry, but it was you who mentioned the Studio version. Cederick only mentioned Resolve without adding "Studio"...
