Hi
Unfortunately there are many different variations of Mpeg4 video file.
Many camera/ phone manufactures tweaking the codecs for their own requirements.
With so many flavours out there it leaves the Video Editors playing catchup.
A phone displaying on a small screen may not need a high quality, reducing the files size being the priority.
So the data rate gets reduced which effects the quality and file size, my phone can now record more footage than yours, and that’s a selling point. Great to upload to the internet or share to other phones.
The standard data rate of 25/30 fps is usually a constant rate, again Phones may change that to variable which does make video editors complain. Although it is not just the variable rate as some video can be used with VS whilst others cannot, to be honest we don’t know why some work ok and others don’t, so we recommend converting the video to a more editable format.
If you right click your clips on the timeline and choose properties the frame rate if 29.97fps, 24fps, 25fps or 30fps are most likely constant rate, if you see 29.82fps, any other values then they are variable.
With the panel showing, if you Press Alt + PrtSc, that will copy the panel to your Clipboard
Open a video editor to paste the image, then save as Jpg
There are of course other software that can take a snapshot of the Panel
Attach the image to your reply from options at the bottom of the post.
As a thought, one trick you could try
Rename the original Video file to use MOV as its extension instead of MP4, then try importing to Video Studio
VSx9 File format mismatch mp4

Re: VSx9 File format mismatch mp4
Hi
Notice the Frame Rate as 25.488frames/sec
That would indicate using a variable rate.
But as I said some video using variable rates do import to Video Studio so nothing is straight forwards
Did you try renaming that file to FHGN8121.mp4 to FHGN8121.mov
