I was testing the Remove any color script from Suz Hook.
It runs on a background layer and produces transparent area in place of the removed pixels.
I tried to reproduce the steps manually but my delete selection (delete key) in the final stage doesn't remove the selection.
I see in the script the "ClearSelection" command used by Suz but I don't find that command in the available PSP tools.
I'm missing something ?

Re: Clear selection
It's the "Clear" command found under the Edit menu. Run whenever you hit the delete key. You were doing it right. The big thing is her first step in the script is to check if the layer is a background layer. If it is she promotes the background layer to a raster layer. That's why her script produces transparency. If you're using a regular background layer instead of a full raster layer then PSP will use the background color on your palette to fill in the selection when you use the clear command.

Re: Clear selection
I understand now.
My problem : I'm running the French version and the translation in French is often ambiguous or non explicit.
"Promote to layer" says what the command does. The equivalent text translated in French is "Transformer le calque d'arriere-plan". In English : "Transform the background layer". How to "transform" it ? The layer is already raster. It is not very clear. And I misunderstood the French word. I duplicated the layer which "transformed" the background layer as a "regular" layer.
Thank you Levifiction !
