Crop Tool Problem

Post by luckycarl »

I have a number of Crop Tools set up in EasyPalette in PI 10 and PI 7. They work fine in PI 7 but only once when I first open PI 10. Is there a way I can run PI 7 and PI 10 at the same time?

Thanks,
Carl

You can have them installed on one PC at the same time but you won't be able to run them simultaneously. What's your problem with the crop tool?

The crop tool only works one time when I open PI 10. If I want to use a different crop tool I have to close PI 10 and re-open it, which is why I use PI 7.

If you are indeed following the correct instructions on how to select another crop tool, then there might be something wrong with the PhotoImpact installed on your computer. You might want to reinstall the software from the Control Panel.

When you install a software, the installer extracts temporary files needed for the installation on a temp folder. These folders are usually:
C:\Windows\Temp
C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Local Settings\Temp

If the temp folder holds old installer files that may be corrupted or are duplicates with the same filename but are used for a different software, it could cause a problem for your new installation of the software. Before you reinstall the software, make sure to clean the Temp folders.

The Local Settings folder is a hidden folder so you have to enable Windows Explorer to see hidden files and folders. Open Windows Explorer, go to Tools > Folder Options > View and check show hidden files and folders. You can now open the Temp folder from the Documents and Settings folder and delete the files there before you make a new install.

I've gone through the re-install procedure with the same results. I spoke to a Ulead service rep and he said this is a known problem. Crop Tools set up in Easy Palette only works one time on opening PI 10. I was looking for a way to run both programs at the same time.

Thanks,
Carl
