Helllo fellow VS2018 users.
I'm having an issue, I almost ashamed to ask, but I can not figure it out:
How can I seek/move by frame within a clip/project?
I thought left/right arrow should work, but that jumps to next cuuting/previous cutting position.
Somehow I did manage once to seek with the mouse wheel, but usually that will zoom in/out or move back/forward in the timeline...
Anybody willling to enlighten me?

Re: VS2018 move/seek by frame
I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but when I want to see every frame in a clip in order to be able to pick one or more that needs editing, I put my mouse pointer in the thin band at the very bottom of screen (where the red arrow is pointing in the attached image), hold down the Ctrl key and scroll the mouse wheel until the clip in the timeline expands out as far as it will go. This shows ever frame in the clip.

Re: VS2018 move/seek by frame
Ah - ok. This is one way. Thank you!
What I'm especiallly looking for is a hotkey to move a frame forward/backward; or the information about how to use the scroll wheel of the mouse.
Zooming all the way in/out of the timeline is often laggy with my setup, therefor not very productive.

lata, this is it. Thank you!
Ken, if I zoom all the way in on the timeline, VS2018 does not show all the individual frames as shown by you...
However, at this max zoom level, every divider in the timeline can be clicked and is an individual frame, which then will show in the preview window.

Re: VS2018 move/seek by frame
To show all the frames you need to go to Preference > General and choose "Thumbnail Only" against Clip Display Mode.

Re: VS2018 move/seek by frame
Another option to nudge through the frames is to select the digital clock, bottom right of preview screen.
If you click Seconds, keyboard arrow Up / Down will nudge 1 second.
Click frames and the arrow keys will nudged one frame.

Re: VS2018 move/seek by frame
Thank you Ken & lata. I guess now I - and everybody else who finds this - can seek by frame in multiple ways. Excellent!
