when i load program ( 9.01 ) , i click the 'Open' folder, and up comes a box saying 'My Pictures' .. I do NOT want this box as Default, i want 'Desktop' to always appear when i click 'Open Folder' .. How can i set 'DESKTOP' as DEFAULT ?? ( It remembers 'DESKTOP' if i manually get it to show up, but after 'Re-Booting' ... 'My Pictures' becomes DEFAULT ??? If you right click your shortcut, properties...
And change the 'open in...' to your desktop location. What does that do?

I note you are using windows XP so some translation might be needed.
I have Windows 10 version 1803 and with PSP8 it opened in My Pictures as your screenshot showed. I clicked the arrow to the right and navigated to a common test folder on the dedktop and loaded an image from that.
Then closed image and also PSP.
Re started PSP clicked on Open and it showed that folder again , not the My Pictures.
I could navigate to desktop but not get it to stay there. But then a brainwave.
Take any image - a jpg and place it on your desktop. Naked as it were not in any other folder.
Now navigate to the desktop and open that picture . Close everything and when you open PSP and click open you will see it at Desktop.
Desktop is now the default temporarily.
As soon as you open an image from another folder, that folder becomes the default for Open.

Hi, I am using Windows 7 ( But might have view set as Xp possibly ?? ) anyway, if i open, then browse to desktop, and import a 'Jpg' ... if i close PSP, and open program, YES , it does off 'Desktop' NOT 'My Pictures' .. but if i reboot PC and load PSP, it offer 'My Pictures' NOT 'Desktop' !!! I need a permanant way to open, then view Desktop items, NOT 'My Pictures' by default !
