Sound Mixer UI - Not able to mute

In the picture above you see I've carefully brought the audio down to -30 or whatever the bottom is.
I can still hear audio in that section.
Add to that, it was very hard to move the section down to -30 without the audio points disappearing. If you pull the audio-points down too far it treats like a "delete". However, its too sensitive, so I'm moving my mouse down in the blue area and if you go to far (a matter of maybe 20 pixels or so), you the point disappears and you have to try again.

How do people work with audio, is it with this Audio mixer view? Or is there another way to mute.

My projects require me to do a LOT of sound adjustment

Hi

The lower volume level shows as -36, in some instances with higher volumes the sound can still be heard.
Although this is a known issue I would ask that you report this to Corel Support.
ok
In Sound Mixer, first select the clip, then switch to preview mode,
position the curser to mute position
drag the vertical volume slider down to -36, should add the square?
Reposition curser, then drag slider again to add more points.

I don’t use Sound Mixer (too messy) but prefer to use the Fade In/Out Mute- volume level 100% options
If you use the scissors to cut the clip (keyboard S )you can right click the selection for Mute.

In sound Mixer choose the Attributes tab.
and just to confuse, close Sound Mixer and choose Edit tab, both show the volume level / fade options.
Some commands can be accessed using Right click to show a context menu,

I really appreciate your reply but I'm not sure what to do about the UI issues unless you know how to fix it.

I go down to -36 and audio is still very audible. BUT when you switch out of Audio Mixer, the sound is muted! It's also the fact that I have two modes I need to switch between to do adjustments... and the audio track isn't drawn while I'm outside of the Audio Mixer mode. I also use the audio tracks, in other editors, as a way of helping me track the video.
Also the audio handle area is only 15 pixels tall(between mute and normal) so I can't make adjustments much finer than 2 dB AND its a pain to do so.

Coming from the usability and stability issues in PowerDirector, a fiercely frustrating product, this experience doesn't bode well for the Trial.

Hi

From the sound mixer, Project Mode, position the cursor, then drag the vertical level slider up or down to adjust volumes.
As you start to drag a square level control node is added to the wave form, not sure what they call those “nodes”
Reposition the curser to create another point. You can user the digital clock to move cursor with accuracy
To re-adjust can be done with the slider or manually dragging the nodes in Clip mode.

We can access the fades and 100% levels from the Sound Mixer by selecting the Attribute tab
We can also access sound levels by Right clicking a clip for the context menu, Mute , Volume Levels, fades being available.
That can be done within the Sound Mixer
